I think Felix finally experienced how nicely Lantus can let you surf...after so many ups and downs and false starts....I'll take a 183 this morning!

Just want to wish everyone a Happy St. Patricks Day and thank LL for all of the support and guidance we've received these past months (and especially these past few weeks). We're sending out positive thoughts, and wishes for much needed sleep to all the kitties and beans who need them!

Does anyone know how to figure carb % for foods not listed on Binky's page? I called Friskies last night and got Protein % & Fat %, but she told me there's a formula to use to figure carbs out. (but didn't know the formula). Any ideas? I have a feeling that one or two of the Friskies w/gravy we've been using is actually a MC- not a HC- which could have explained the slow response Felix had last weekend when we needed to bump his numbers up. Any input is welcome!

You need the "as fed" (vs. the guaranteed analysis) values and the calorie count from the manufacturer. You don't want values that are expressed in minimums and maximums. If you go to the FAQ section on Janet & Binky's site, there is a link to the Excel SS that Janet used for the calculations. Once you have all of the numbers, you subtract the total from 100 for the carb%. Plug those #s into the SS and the %carbs is automatically calculated.

Felix looks great!!! Nice surf and nice numbers this morning.

Here's the xcel chart to use to calculate the numbers once you get the as-feds. I use the lower calculator for human-grade foods but Friskies might be animal grade. Just fill in over the numbers that are already there and when you click on the "percent of calories" column, it will update it all. When you call, be sure you stress as-feds; alot of the companies will still try to give you guaranteed values. Good Luck!!!

Hi Marjorie- hope you're having a good day at TBP :smile: Yup, Hubby's due to be home late tonight. Good thing, too, cuz I'll be working at a Spring Exhibition this weekend; so he'll have run of the house... OMG!!! :lol: Thanks again for the link- I'll play with that later tonight and try to get Friskies on the phone again.

Still thinking about Barb & Tori today- like everyone else. We have close friends that are in a similar situation with their life-long companion, Lady, a German Shorthair. I'm so glad that Barb & Tori have such over-whelming support from their LL family!

Kind of a gloomy day here...the open window spurred some play-fighting. Jasper seems a bit "off" now tonight. Trying to get a U-sample (he's due) just incase I've missed something with the extra attention I've been giving Felix lately. Hubby's home and looking pretty tired from his week- just glad to have him home again!

Yes..welcome home hubby...hope he gets some good rest and hope you can join him soon. Thanks for posting on our condo during the week...I get so little time to visit.

I'm doing one more test and ni ni for me. Felix is doing awesome. Sleep tight.
