Yesterday was..... BLUE RECOVERY DAY in MannieLand. WOOT!, YaHOO, WOO HOO, STUPENDOUS! It was wonderful too see those numbers again. Rumor has it too that the Blue Mannie Group was heard playing live at the beaches in Southern California, and a few boardwalks. Way to go guys! Keep on ROCKIN'! I hope for a good day today, more blues would be so cool! Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better, be blue vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. It was a better day yesterday for Mannie, mobility-wise, though we did have a few episodes. Something to talk to the IM vetty about when Mannie goes in for another recheck of BP and Potassium in a week from this Monday. I'm not sure I can truthfully say he is improving, but can say it isn't any worse. I wonder if the med combo is quite right. It will be interesting to see if the BP meds make any difference. Anyways..... I had to give Mannie his spironolactone meds via manual insertion yesterday morning, as he just would not eat the fuds it was mixed in. dang it! What was interesting that DGS was watching, and he didn't like it when Mannie protested. Nicholas could tell Mannie was stressed, and not happy with me at all. He kept telling me to stop, with a definitive "NO!".   Mannie agreed with him.   The rest of the day was normal for Mannie: he did his thing, made it outside for a while, where he toured the yard, checked the perimeter security, sniffed the ground cover, and made sure the contractors work was up to par. Thanks Mannie! :-D ;-) Appy has been good (picky !!!, but good), CPC (barely) yesterday and this morning, LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. I am happy to say one more time: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone! It is catch up day today: shopping, errands, laundry, cleaning - all the fun stuff! OH WOO HOO! not. I hope for a woods hie later in the day. YAY!

Hey everybody! What's up? You guys wanna go and ride the train again. I kinda miss it, and soon the snows up there will be gone, and well, we should go. They is serving all three meals this trip - woo hoo! mega pig-out for us! Maybe they will let us help in the kitchen! And drive train! I hope we get conductors caps... What'd'ya think? You guys in? Let me know - I am ready for anything! ~~ Mannie

OT: Here's the Picassa link to the photos from DGS, DD and my adventure yesterday: Swimming. Picassa also uploads the videos. so... look for the picture with the little triangle in the corner (usually upper left?) that indicates video. More often than not they are at the end (maybe), and Picassa doesn't rotate them, so sorry on the sideways viewing... anyways - here's the link: Swimming

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454

Yay for normalcy! Poor DGS, Mannie, and you. It's stressful seeing our furry little once being unhappy with us, even when it's for their own good, but it must be even harder for DGS, since he's such a sweet young kid. Mannie is a lucky guy to have Nicholas on his side  !

Have a great day, Michelle...and let's see some of those blues again, Mannie!

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) It was an experience for DGS - he just wasn't too sure why I was insisting on doing something that Mannie obviously didn't like. That took some explaining, and showing him that Mannie was good to go. ;-) and I so agree: YAY for normalcy! :-D

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454

Morning Michelle,

Glad to hear there is still normalcy in Mannieland  I hope Mannie decides to turn his butt around and slide down for you today, blues would be great Mannie. Ok? You can do it buddy.

Sorry that he is not happy with the meds (smokey is fighting me with hers too), it can be so stressful... They just don't realize we're trying to make them feel better.

Hope you have a great day of catching up with stuff. That will be my day too,

Kathie

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454

Good Morning, Michelle & Mannie,

Michelle, when I started Rusty on his "lung treat" I presented it to him as a treat, mixing the contents of the capsule with a teaspoon of baby food and water, not with cat food. Then I finger-fed it (the way I feed his afternoon "hairball treat"). He accepted it right away. Of course, the Allerplex is not chemical-smelling, since it is herb and enzyme/extract based. It smells like bouillon cube and may even taste good! Have you smelled the meds you are giving? Just a thought!

Yesterday's numbers were really nice. Come on, Mannie, let's have another day of BLUE, OK?
Have fun with your chores, Michelle, and try to get out on that woods hike. I hope the weather cooperates.

Happy Caturday!

Ella & Rusty

TRAIN RIDE with all meals provided and getting to drive the engine. Wow! See ya soon, Mannie, my pal,
Rusty

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454

Morning Michelle, ~O) that was so cool yesterday with the Mannie Blue Group playing live at the beaches in Southern Cali! Let's see some more blue today, Mannie! How cute with DGS siding with Mannie, that's the best buds for ya. Nice to hear his mobility was better. It will be interesting with the IM Vet and meds checkup. I hope Mannie tolerates the bp meds okay.
Mannie, thanks for the special treat of croissants and scones, the best, and Quad Espressos.
Have a great day, Michelle, and I hope you get out for a hike, too.

Mannie, I love the train ride, and three meals, too. Yes, we better go while we still have snow. See ya at my curb, Mags

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454, +2 HI

HI at +2. Wow, and is that ever disappointing, we are back to the alphas.... :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH:   so so sorry Mannie.

Morning Kathie ~O) ~O) ~O) I had so hoped on the butt turnaround too, but with that +2 it looks like we will have to wait a bit. I so agree on the meds... what a battle it can be. And I have tried all methods known to man to get those meds into him without upsetting him so. well, he forgives easily too, so we keep on truckin'.... ;-) THX on the day... so we hope! :-D :-D

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) I do the same with the meds: baby food only, and it is given as a trat time, and separate from his fuds. Giving meds in his fuds initially worked ya back when, but no longer does. We are now approaching the phase when the BF isn't always well received either. it's as if he tires of it, and no longer wants to eat it. And yes, I've smelled the stuff, tasted the stuff, and none really have any noticeable odor or taste, that I can tell. Who knows: maybe I have a rotten sniffer.  Yesterday was such a nice day, and today we bounce. I wonder if these mega bounces will ever lessen. Each time now when I think we are over the alpha zone there he is yet again. It has to be so hard on him..... THX on today - I so hope for the hike too.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) THX, it was a great day yesterday for him. and ever so wodnerful to see a day long blue surf. not so wodnerful to see that alpha zone this morning well - hope he clears that soon. Paws crossed. I know on DGS siding with Mannie - it was so cute and supportive. Best buddies for sure! :-D :-D THX on the new meds - so do I... paws crossed there too. So far so good, but the affects are cumulative I am told, si it may be a few days before we know if they are or are not tolerated well. THC on the day, and me too on that hike! :-D
Auntie Ann! heeheehee... I am so glad I brought you both! They is mega good. I know!, cuz I had to sample... ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Maggie - cool, it is a go for sure then. Rusty wants to go too! So I thought on the snow.... best get up where while we can, and the train - what a great way to get there!~~ Mannie

Hey Rusty! WOO HOO then, and we have a plan. See ya soon. Picks you up? ~~ Mannie

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454, +2 HI

I hate it when they don't want to take their meds. I wish we could just explain why they need it and they would take it. That's cute/sweet DGS sided with Mannie. I hope Mannie slides down today.

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454, +2 HI, +5.5 566

And there is the infamous Mannie bounce @-) I do hope he will slide down for you S L O W L Y.
So sweet of Nicholas to look out for Mannie-- what a cute pair they make!
Hope you have a great day, Michelle!

Re: 3/16 Mannie AMPS 454, +2 HI, +5.5 566

HI Carla - I know on the meds... Such a battle it can be. It's great if he will take it crushed in BF, but lately that is a hit and miss, and then I wasted a pill... It was cute that DGS was on Mannie's side - made me laugh, relieved alot of the tension of the moment.

Hi Courtney - yupp! That infamous darn bounce that is part of his repertoire these days.... @-) @-) and Em too on the S L O W L Y part. THX on Nicholas, they are best buds for sure. I love how Nicholas watches out for him. It really is great.

Re: 3/16 Mannie PMPS 508

508 @ PMPS. well.... at least he is down some from earlier today. I will hope for a slow descend to better numbers. What an ugly bounce day this has been. On a good note: he has had a very good day today, been outside, had breffis with his bean. nanners to sleep on, lots of pets and scritches. One happy kitter!

Re: 3/16 Mannie PMPS 508

Mannie, dude, we've got to find some lower floors. I've got the ropes, I'm going to pull you down a couple, then we'll go from there together. You can do it, buddy! ~Z

Re: 3/16 Mannie PMPS 508

Hi, Michelle, I'm glad Mannie is a happy boy :-D .
And your DGS being Mannie's voice is bittersweet ~ cute, but probably a little upsetting to the little guy.
I hope Mannie comes down a little ~ yesterday's blues sure suit him well!

Re: 3/16 Mannie PMPS 508, +2 536

536 @ +2. ugh. still ugly. Down Mannie, slowly...

Hi Josie - me too! He is one happy dude, despite the beegee's, and lousy he must feel being so high. I think so too on DGS and Mannie: bittersweet is a good description, as that is what it was. It did upset him, so we talked about it, as much as one can help a 2 yr old understand, and showed him that Mannie was really OK. Me too on the coming down - such an ugly bounce this one is....

Z ! DUDE! HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! I know on the lower floors. I did so good yesterday, and today I dunno what happened  So pull some and we can find our way down,. I hope your toofies are feeling OK. ~~ M

Re: 3/16 Mannie PMPS 508, +2 536

hmm. wonder if you could find a new food to get more cooperation from Mannie...
at least these days you can read ingredients on everything out there....
My thought was something like a little piece of pastrami (low sodium) ... it has such a strong smell that it might mask the pill. or raw turkey ?
Especially if it's a once a week type thing.... Just my acme hat butting in....

446 @ +5. Keep on heading down Mannie, nice and slow.

Hi Rhiannon - THX, that just night be a good idea - I've don the chicken and turkey thing... not a beef flavor. he LOVES ground beef. Hmmmm.... might be worth a try. The pills for the potassium are so large, and maybe if I ground them up, mixed in ground beef he'd go for it. I like the pastrami idea too, that could work for the tiny BP pill. Thx! I like acme hats! :-D

Hi Helen - many thanks! I so hope he does, he is headed down so maybe by tomorrow! paws crossed.

I hope you wake up to a sunnier PS tomorrow Michelle. That would go perfectly with what the weather is supposed to be.

And  on all the meds you have to deal with for Mannie. What a challenge getting those down the hatch. You are doing a great job with all that.

I hope the meds are working for Mannie and he's doing better. I know he is not so easy to pill but we have the amlodipine compounded into very small capsules for Gus.

Morning Wendy -This morning was better - its pink, but a low one, so we will hope be has abetter day today. oh yes on those meds. He is not thrilled, and we keep on truckin'. and thanks.

Morning Marje - we do too on the meds. That would be nice. The amlodopine one is go inf OK. It's so small that I can actually get hat one in him without too much problem. The potassium stuff though is rather large. that one is posing the problem. oh well, we do the best we can.
