Happy friday, Lantus Folk!
And no...that's NOT a typo in the subject line...
IT'S TRUE! I SAW IT WITH MY OWN LIL PEEPERS!
I was a bit less than my usual jovial self yesterday, on the couch with my leg elevated and swathed in ice packs-
(the leg isn't really that bad, but when you live alone, you can whine & snivel like a little baby without the kitties pointing out that you are overdoing the self-pity gig).
Smudgie was hugging my belly, and Annie was grooming my hair (or investigating where the mane went- as I had it cut very short last week :? ).
Binks hopped up on the couch to lend his huggies... startled Annie- and she vigorously whacked his poor lil head  .
He stood there looking all confused and forlorn  , and Miss Cur-Smudgeon leaned toward him.
As I readied myself to block her from joining in on the Whomp Fest, she very gently began licking his cheek!!
Will wonders never cease??? After 20 months of living in uneasy truce conditions, Smudge made a gesture that WASN"T offensive!
Perhaps she took my recent ribbing to heart- I've been very tickled by my new motto- "Always the Binksmaid, never the Binks"
but perhaps in true feline elegance, she interpreted that to mean "you'll never replace him, but can stand beside him and Annie in my affections"?
Whatever the reason, I've been suffused with a warm glow ever since that moment-
and those of you who have been regaled with our Tortie Wars Saga for so long will surely realize...
THAT WAS SOME MOMENT!!!!!
Isn't it wonderful how these lil fuzzbutts make our lives so much warmer and brighter?
