Hi LL Gang!
Just thought I ought to drop in and give you a quick update on Sooty!
He's been fine and healthy <sighs!!> - and I am glad to say, overall - doing very well! He's eating great, all systems go and what can I say, I hate to jinx anything <anti-jinx!!> but we think we're actually starting to see some effect, in recent days, from the (acro!)mega-doses of Levemir that we are now at. We've even had a couple of blues, believe it or not!
But Insulin Resistance tends to feed upon itself, it seems - and so we have had to be incredibly agressive lately, with Sooty's dosing, to make any dent in this resistance (so anyone looking at our SS, maybe for the first time, please remember, that Sooty is a confirmed Acromegalic boy and insulin doses like he is currently on, are unique ONLY to his individual condition!)
Also I am sooo pleased to be able to report, that his back legs / hips are starting to show some definite improvement, he is able to go up and down stairs MUCH better lately and he can jump up onto the kitchen counter for shots & tests much more confidently... he's always been on Xobaline (Zobaline now) for neuropathy, but I do think, being down into the lower 200s, is really helping him in this department...
So to summarize his WCR: everything's going pretty well, right now... I'll stop back here from time to time and let you know how he's doing...
In the mean time got to say GO MOCHA!! we are soooooo delighted for Devon & Peter (& Mocha, of course!!!!
And to all those who may be going through bad things right now, let me just say: go ahead and allow yourself to lean on the incredible Support System that is Lantus Land / FDMB - whatever the outcome may be (and que sera, sera...) the folks here are simply the very, very BEST (we are still in awe...!)
