i'll try the blowing on his fur thing tonight, nicole! i'm thinking that just might work. hahaha, and if not, here comes the razor.

i'd decided early this morning that i was gonna burrito him with just his scruff exposed, pull it up and hit it with my old electric razor. and then, when i was testing him, he was so feisty wanting to get to his food i let him get going and when i pulled up his scruff there was such a neat open exposed area i just shot him. no problem - no flinch, nothing. wahoo!

not surprised he's up a tad after the fur shot last night.

Great going on the shot! :thumbup Isn't it amazing how much looser the skin seems when they are in that position? If Tess is sitting or just lying down I have a much harder time getting a tent. Bur if she is hunkered down noshing it's is easy.

Not too bad of an amps - a nice place to start. Mannie is along hair too, and I've gotten very good at separating the fur so I can see the skin that we usually have no problems. He is so engrossed with the food in front of him that he hardly ever notices the shot.

while we're getting info here on how to deal with FD, the furkids are surfing to find info on how to keep it challenging :lol:

I was just looking at the pics in Punkin's profile. He is a georgeous kitty. The long orange hair is so neat. Adorable pictures!!!!

Sorry about the furshot. I can't see skin ever with Maverick. I have to go by feel. And I can only get monojects in long needles which makes it even harder ohmygod_smile

:-D he IS cute, isn't he?! of course, we all think that about our furbabies and that is how it should be! can you believe he sat at the humane society in a cage for months?

Great success with the "fur blowing" shot tonight. got it in - he paused in his snarfing dinner action, but only jerked at the last moment. i'm wondering - today on someone's condo i saw a comment about large quantities of lantus stinging. i'm wondering if that's part of it - 7.25 is a large dose and he generally allows the first part ok. not sure there's any option, but maybe as his dose decreases it will get better.

You read accurately -- Lantus can sting. Many of the people with high dose cats will switch to Levemir for that reason.
