3/15 Petey AMPS 164 +3 103 +4 122

Hi Laurie On your spreadsheet for today's date you have 03/25/2025 , just wanted to let you know so you can correct it :cat: I hope Petey will give you some nice greens soon :bighug:

Nice--he's given you an allllmost green with that +3. It looks like he's responding well to the 2u. I'm hoping it will get him back down into the greens like it has before (just not the limes, Petey!).

"Hearing the needle scrape" :nailbiting: What size needle are you using? And is Petey underweight? I know so many of them lose weight with FD, especially initially, before they go on insulin. Jude's lost a little, but he's got plenty to lose (he's 17 lbs.).

3/14 Post

Back to blues! Not sure if this morning was a FS, I think I got it but he moved pretty quick.

I feel like the shots have been painful for him and he doesn't seem to have as much thick skin lately. He moves and I can hear the needle scrape :arghh: :(

Have a great Saturday! :bighug:
Hi Laurie, hoping you had a good shot today. Nice blues :cool::cool:

Have a relaxing weekend :bighug::cat::bighug:

Aww, poor Petey! I'm sorry that the injections suddenly seem to be hurting!

It might be worth asking your vet for a lidocaine prescription! Xander was always sooo sensitive to the poke no matter what I did and the vet thought it was just his sensitive diabetic skin and gave me some lidocaine to put on before the shot. I put a thin coat on that bare skin (he's shaved at the injection site) about a half hour before the shot and he barely reacts to it anymore. Obviously does require a little bit of bare skin though.

He was down to 10lbs then I got him back up to 13 (he was 18lbs at adoption), but I feel like there's less to grab lately. I'm gonna try to get a weight on him, I hope he's not losing weight again.

The scrape is when he moves suddenly and the needle comes out, scraping his skin, it's awful.

I seemed to find a good spot tonight, he didn't even flinch.

Thanks Brianna, I'll definitely keep that in mind, I had to use that on my last cat for SQ.fluids. I forgot all about the sensitivity and nerve damage diabetes can cause.
