She's not eating well. Only ate a couple bites at am shot, but I got a good amount into her at +1. Picked around at her food later, ate about a tbls at +5, again at +6.
I'm not freaking out, but if she drops lower I will! I was figuring at +6 she won't, then I read Anne and Zener's condo! Now I'm worried!

Don't read our condo for typical cat behavior. Zener is anything but!  Crazy cat makes us crazy. Good thing he's so adorable. That +6 is a nice rise so Eleanor probably won't keep dropping. Have you tried other things to get her to eat? Julie had some good suggestions the other day. You may have to try a bunch of things to find something that works for Eleanor.

I tried putting Oregano on her food, she sniffed it, then looked at me as if she wondered what kind of trick that was, then walked off. She's not a catnip fan either. I haven't gotten out to buy Parmesan cheese as the bus drivers are still on strike. I crumbled some boiled chicken on her food and she carefully picked the chicken off without eating the food.
I held her dish up for her and she did eat a little more that way.

Julie --

If lifting her bowl gets her to eat, can you find something to put under her bowl to raise it up? Eleanor's profile noted she had a spinal injury. It may be easier for her to eat with the bowl raised.

Great cycle for Eleanor today.

I put the dish on a couple of books. I'm hoping to be able to buy a raised food stand. I also discovered if I make a little "mountain" of the food, it helps, of course she eats the top of the mountain so I have to keep piling it up. I realized she spends a lot of time pushing her food around, she has no teeth. May be hard to get much in her mouth when the food packs down in the dish. Problem with the mountain is that she doesn't like me watching when she eats.

Hi Julie - very nice cycle for Eleanor today. I wish I had some helpful info on helping Eleanor eat. I also have a civvie that doesn't like anyone near or watching when she eats. it is a battle. I have to do as you describe with the mountain, let her eat that and after she leaves grab her and repeat the process. I wish you luck.
