Tiggy was playing again yesterday morning with an ice cube and chasing it up and down and carrying it around in his mouth. Much fun! and then last night played a little too. he is also holding greens which is nice.
Went to the vet with Bonnie last night.(bunny). In the last few weeks she has had an upper respiratory infection which she pulled through even though it was very serious - the vet had given us odds of 1/100 and she made it! Then due to the antibiotics she developed GI tract issues (common to rabbits - also very serious) which she pulled through too.
But a few days ago lost the use of her back legs and kept falling over. And last night her vet said she had neurological issues likely due to a parasite rabbits carry and that we should put her to sleep.
We couldnt do it. She is otherwise happy and eating and cleaning and pooping normally. She is 12 which is old for a rabbit so its not like she did a ton of moving around anyway.. she spent most of her day before this snoozing and eating anyway. Putting her down felt like shooting your granny because she is in a wheelchair. And this morning when I went to see her she flipped her ears and tried to move towards me and was excited about breakfast and I knew we had made the right decision for now. She probably doesnt have long now but while she is happy we will let her be. I dont know though why i cant stop crying.
