Red is on 2 1/2 units currently. My cat Red does go outside too. He's 11 and has always been an outdoor cat so I want to keep him happy. Besides the fact that we live in a very small house too.

Anyways, yesterday my dummy husband decided to throw stale bread out for the birds. When I got home from a long day at work I saw Red eating something in the yard. Thought maybe he caught a mouse which he does sometimes. Nope, lo & behold he was eating the bread! I told my husband-no more bread! And, go buy bird seed instead!

Glad I'm home today off work so can monitor Red better today.

Ok you can see now Red's numbers have changed. There is a slight possibility he ate alittle dry about a hour ago as my teenager fed the other 2 cats dry food & she might not have watched him as well as she said she did. Can a few bites of dry food really make glucose rise this much?

That is actually not a bad number for the morning after a carbfest yesterday. I'm lucky I have a bread addict but she is a civie, but you can't turn your back for a moment on her if there is a loaf of bread on the counter...homemade bread is the worst, she smells it baking and sits in front of the oven and watches it like most cats watch a koi pond. :lol:

Hopefully DH will either get bird seed or make sure Red is in the house before feeding the birdies. Another solution would be if he really wants to use up the stale bread feeding the bird...I bird feeder that is up high enough that Red can't get to it. But don't feel too bad we have had sugarcats now for over 2 years and I still have to remind my DH that you can't leave Mac & Cheese or Spaghetti on the stove unguarded, a couple of years ago right after Maxwell went OTJ I made a big pot of spaghetti, DH didn't put a lid on it after he got his dinner and I walk in the kitchen to find Maxwell whiskers deep in the pot with all his white marking stained red. :roll: :lol:

They say you can't train cats, but I think they are easier to train than husbands...lol (No offense to the sugardads)
