It's a vet visit day, so she got a higher dose of gabapentin today. I mixed the contents of the capsule with tuna water, and she actually drank the whole thing (it was only a tablespoon or 2). She was definitely feeling the effects after just an hour, and an hour fifteen after shot she threw up. I know she needs it to be calm enough to get blood work done, but we might have to rethink dosage since it hits her so hard. I'll also keep a close eye on her numbers since throwing up what she's eating will probably affect how the insulin is hitting her. Poor kitten. :(

Poor baby. Probably more stressful for you. :(
I hope she does ok with the vet today. Sending you warm hugs for support, Alicia

Poor you and poor her.
Vet visits are just so hard and stressful all around.
I know it's a necessary evil, but it can really mess up all kinds of things.
Hope it all goes as smooth as it possibly can.

Girl is so drugged that she didn't start grumbling until halfway through the 20 minute vet visit, at which point we had already done a blood draw, solensia shot, and trimmed the back claws. She usually pulls her legs back into the wrap thing her vet uses, and after we pulled her leg out for the blood draw, she just left it there until we got done trimming her claws on that foot and the vet actually put it back in the wrap. And it was like that with all of her feet. We're going to half the dose for the next claw trim - she got the whole dose this time, and usually she spits it out or pukes faster, so I don't know that she's gotten the full thing before. And it takes so long for it to wear off now that she's older. Poor beeb.

Her vet did so good on the blood draw though - we noted last time which leg it was that did better, and if she uses a finer needle, then it goes even better. There wasn't even any blood on the bandage after I took it off, which doesn't usually happen (again, so drugged). And it's been a chaotic morning for her, so when she handed me my debit card without actually running it, I brought it up and she may have dropped an F bomb. And then immediately apologized. I found it hysterical and said that it was totally fine around me.

Hi Alicia poor Kit cat, she must be flying high as a kite.
I hope she perks up later. I'm glad the vetngit everything done fast.
Too funny if she dropped the F bomb lol. Ate you referring about your vet? That wouldn't phase me at all lol.
I hope she can help you out if Eric can't do it
Nice blues so far
I hope you both have a nice night :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

It's slowly wearing off - she hit the "I'm drugged and really hungry" portion this afternoon, so I let her eat a bit later than I usually would since she barely ate anything this morning.

And good news! Eric gave her her shot tonight! Which literally made me feel like a huge weight is lifted.

Maybe 1.5 units cause it's on the line? You can always leave a sample syringe filled with coloured liquid for him to compare. And you go Eric!

Maybe start vacation dose a couple days ahead of time, so you can see she's not going to do anything dramatic on it once the depot is drained.

Thanks, Wendy - I'll plan to start on Sunday.
I had a back up of the vet coming once a day and Eric's mom coming the other days, but he did it, so that's great!
