201 this morning. No shot given.

No appetite. This is the first time I've ever seen her walk up to her food bowl slowly, look at the food, then walk away. She was lethargic all morning and even urinated outside of her box. I still have a tough time believing she's diabetic. Time to call the vet again.

Steve,

I know you are having a hard time believing she is diabetic but if everything else has been ruled out and she still has these kind of numbers then she is diabetic..She might not remain insulin dependent forever, and she might need a very small microdose of insulin for a short time to get her into remission. But the longer she stays in these numbers the hard it is going to be to get her into remission later.

If you aren't giving insulin yet, and your vet remains adamant about not putting her on it, please at least start checking her for ketones. Not eating and lethargic is a cause to be concerned. Things that if she was mine that I would be asking the vet to check for is infection...UTIs can cause them to behave the way you are describing, as well as pancreatitis. And so can DKA...since the recipe for DKA is not enough insulin, not enough food and infection. I'm very worried about her as I am sure you are, something is just not right here. Also not eating in cats can lead to Fatty Liver which can be life threating. If you can please try to get her to a vet today, I even think if she was mine I might be taking her to a different vet for a second opinion.

I called the vet the second they opened. Left a message with the receptionist and I'm waiting for a call back. I did take her to the internal medicine specialist just a week ago for a second opinion and she said she thought Bailey is pre-diabetic, but thought at her current numbers that no insulin should be given either. They did do additional blood/urine work and no ketones were found and nothing was out of ordinary.

Bailey almost seems confused. She was sitting in the bathroom and just staring at the tub. Normally, you can't get her anywhere near the tub. Even the way she's sitting/standing seems odd and her eyes even look different. She's very lethargic and not moving all that much.

Thing is, when she was on the Metronidazole, she was fine. Happy, healthy, normal kitty and her blood glucose levels were dropping steady. As soon as she finished it, her numbers spiked, she had a case of diarrhea and she's acting strange.

The vet wouldn't see her today and their only advice was "call the other specialist." The doctor didn't even call me back, but the receptionist was the one who relayed the message. They were completely uninterested in hearing about Bailey and just kept saying to call the other vet. I am completely fed up with them.

We have an appointment in 90 minutes.

Edit: just found Bailey and rubbed her ears. They were really really warm. Almost hot. Signs of a fever?

Yes hot ears can be a sign of fever and fever is usually infection, but not always sometimes it can be just that they were sleeping somewhere warm. Please keep us updated on how the vet visit goes today. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time with your other vet..I am truly blessed that I have a wonderful one, but I did have to train them on FD, at least they were more than open in working with me and learning as I learned here.
