Good Morning LL!

Just a quick glance over the forum and it looks like we have a lot of Greenies here today! Hurray! I hope K will earn his greenie face today and join the club.
Kismet is feeling just fine this morning. He did get his teeth brushed last night without any incident. I just did a really quick once over, as opposed to spending 30 seconds on each section like I usually do. I figure a little bit is better than nothing! Right now, he is playing with his new feather mouse. He carries it around in his little mouth and chirps and I just want to die it's so cute! I especially love how he carries it up and down the stairs, so politely, and then when he gets to a good spot, drops it and starts beating the heck out of it :lol: Why is it that they are so cute when they carry things? And when they do the ferret hop? zomg. I can't. Too much cute.

Thinking of Judy, Georgia and Johnny, Lyresa, Angela, Roni, Michelle, and everyone else who has had to part with their furry loved one. Sending vines to Noni, Mannie, Angie, Tip, Leo and all other puds in need. Hoping that Trixie's kibble raid has no lasting effects, and paws crossed that Shadow's bgs will come down into numbers her MamaBean likes.

Hi guys .. well kismet is getting closer to :mrgreen: It just might happen! Our civvie twix loves her babies .. she goes to her toybox and picks out just the one she wants .. she carries it over to the floor and then drops it .. then she sits on it and kicks it to death with her back legs .. :? Not real sure what that's about! Have a great day guys!

Hi Courtney. Nice blue cycle going on with Kismet? I hope he does earn his greenIe face today.

Liked the phrase "ferret hop". I knew that hop looked familiar but couldn't put my finger on what it was ;-) .

Hi John! Yes, the "ferret hop" was coined by my DH, and it is the perfect descriptor, I think. :-D

I forgot to mention that yesterday, Kismet stole a piece of watermelon from right under our noses! We had a little bowl of fruit we were snacking from as we sat up in bed working on our computers. K usually hangs between us, and neither of us noticed him sneaking up on the bowl. :roll: We both jumped as soon as we heard the wet chewy smacking noises, and both our hands instinctively shot out to confiscate the contraband. He got one or two good bites, and loved every second of it. :lol:

Woohoo!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: I love watermelon, too, Kismet, but you're not going to stay in the lagoon if you eat much of it. :lol: :lol:

Hi Liz! Kismet is a melon monster! His favorite is cantaloupe, but he will gladly eat honey dew and watermelon, too. :lol:

Update on my DGma! I just got off the phone with DM, and they are releasing her tomorrow! She is so happy, as she was very depressed with the prospects of going to rehab. They got the results back on her bladder wall... The bad news is that the cancer did penetrate the wall, but the good news is that they were able to remove all of the tumors when she had her surgery. Hopefully she will respond well to chemo and won't need her bladder to be removed. We will know more after she consults with her bladder doctor when she comes home. She went to Tampa for the surgery, and lives just outside of Orlando. Continued thoughts and prayers are welcomed.

Great news that your DGma is getting released! Keep us updated. I hope the treatment helps out. Continuing to send vines...

Good news about your DGma. I'm really happy for her that she can go home and that the prognosis is good.

You asked about Rusty's "lung treat" in his condo today. I explained there how I prepare it:

Rusty's dose of Allerplex for now is 1 capsule once a day (when he finishes the 150 capsules in the bottle, the vet wants me to go up to 2 capsules a day). I give it to him at about AMPS + 2. I put it into about a teaspoon of Beechnut Stage 1 babyfood (Turkey and turkey broth). First I put the babyfood in a small dish. Then I open the capsule and mix its contents into the baby food, adding a little warm water to make a slurry. I mix it all together and finger-feed it to him. He loves it and when we finish with the "treat", he licks the dish clean. The powder in the capsules smells like bouillon cube.

My sister's kitty is a melon monster -- and cantaloupe is the favorite. George (GA) was a big fan of watermelon, as well. Sending good vines to your DGma.

Josie and Amy, he was very pleased with himself! Very stealth, Mr. K. :lol: When I grabbed it away from him, he squinted his eyes at me as he licked his lips and meowed in protest, as though he was saying "what?" This guys has big entitlement issues. As far as he is concerned, we should all be eating at the same time. In fact, he usually will go over to his bowl and will pick at whatever is leftover whenever we sit down to a meal.

Ella, thank you so much for your response! I have never tried baby food with Kis before. I think I might try mixing it in to one of his mini meals first. He has food allergies, and we just never know what will trigger them. I will use baby food as a last resort... I'm also worried that, because he is such a picky, snobby eater, he might like it too much and won't eat his regular fuds. :lol:

Liz, I'm with you! Watermelon is my fave, too, and Kis' least favorite of the melons. I don't eat cantaloupe in the house anymore because it's torturous to him :lol: He goes wild! It's like nip, or something.

Sienne, that is too funny! I've never heard of another cat liking cantaloupe. They're so funny!

Thank you all for your wishes for DGma.I really appreciate it! DM sent me a photo of her with all her docs that I will upload as soon as I can dl it from my phone. She looks great, considering last night the poor thing couldn't even lift her head from the pillow.

Here's the photo DM sent me :) I think it's incredible that all three of her doctors came back just to take a photo with her... that hospital is amazing!
A funny aside: Before they took her feeding tube out of her nose, she told Dr. Adler (far right in front) that if he would take it out, she'd marry him. :lol:
So glad she is looking and feeling better. Thank you all for your prayers!

Great photo Courtney. Your DGma looks well in that picture. Sending her a few extra healing vines so she stays that way.

I see Kismet is having another nice evening cycle. I've heard of other cats that like cantelope. I wonder what it is about that fruit. :?

Your DGma looks great!

Just a note about Allerplex: I decided to give it totally separate from mealtime and totally separate from Rusty's food in case he didn't like that new taste in his food. I am thrilled that he likes it, because now it is really a "treat". Beechnut Stage 1 turkey and turkey broth has only turkey and turkey broth in it, so I doubt that it would spike Kismet's allergies. I doubt that the tiny amount of the Allerplex "slurry" would fill a cat up and keep him from eating his foods!!
