I was starting to lose a bit of hope because Diego's numbers have stayed quite high, and he's still lethargic. Tonight I woke up at midnight to test him and got GREAT (for him) values back! Perfect timing for the Lantus to kick in because I am taking the day off work tomorrow get get my own lab work done, so I will be able to get some testing in during the day.

Question: I've been getting his blood from the outside rims of his ears (just inside at the vein). Does anyone take from the inside rim closest to the head? I'm running out of good spots :)

Hi Stacey, I haven't stopped by yet to welcome you and Diego, so hello from a fellow Canadian. You asked about ear testing, Marje once posted this great condo on testing and shooting tips. Lots of good pictures and description that might help you. On ear testing, I alternate ears from one side to the other and top to bottom as the day goes by. Some people test all the way down to the flap on the ear.

I'm glad you were able to get a lower number tonight. :-D That's encouraging. A couple of housekeeping things for you:
- People here post numbers in the mg/dl or US format. The majority of members (and most importantly the dose advisers) are Americans, so we post blood glucose numbers in that format too. Your spreadsheet has a tab on the bottom for the US numbers, so you can just select that to see what the translation is, or just multiply by 18. Tonight's numbers would be Diego PMPS 412 +5 203.
- If you have a question in your condo, it's more likely to get noticed if you select the ? icon on your first post of the day. People here scan for those question marks.
