Today at pm, I'll be giving Daphne fresh juice. I sure hope it's not going to be so much stronger like the Vet thinks, but I'll only give her 0.01u, (her regular dose is 0.50u), so I guess it should be safe, and then test a lot and figure out where she should be then. I hate that I have to do this to her, after working so hard to do it all by the book, but time just got away from me and her old Vet was being so uncooperative, and we end up with 4mth old insulin! I know its my fault though…sorry Daphne :sad:

UPDATE: New insulin doesn't seem to be much of a change for Daphne, her SS looks the same…although I did give her less. I may just go back to her last regular dose of .50u in the AM and test at +2...

I thought you weren't going to be on the Board for a few days so I was pleasantly surprised to see you today. I'm glad you're feeling well enough to type and let us know how you and Daphne are doing. That nap yesterday was just what you needed. :YMHUG:

I just can't help myself…so hard to stay away from this board. I feel bad if I don't check up on kitties and beans. I didn't type as much though, and I won't for a few days, :roll: I know I say that all the time. I have a pain patch on my right arm that helps.

I'm sure Daphne will use that new juice very wisely - she's a smart girl!

It is hard to stay away, but take care of yourself!!!

Hi Barb,
You might find that the fresh juice isn't that much more potent than the old. A lot depends on how well it was cared for, and a lot depends on the cat ECID. Some people use a vial for as long as 6 months, and some cats just need fresh juice every 28 days. Anyway, good luck. I didn't realize you were not feeling well, but glad to hear that you are improving.

Ella, I didn't put my illness on my profile because someone else helped me with it and I don't want to ask for more help. I'm just not that computer literate. As for my illness, it is chronic, so I won't be getting better any time soon. I have RSD, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue. I do the best I can with everything I need to do in life, I won't let the illness take over... The lack of sleep has really taken a toll on me, since it is the one thing we (people with this illness) need so much of. Thanks for asking though. :smile:

I'm going to test again to see if this dose is doing anything at all for Daphne. I won't be getting any sleep since I don't know what to expect, so I'll just test a lot. I did read that we can use the insulin for up to 5 or 6 months and thats why I wasn't in a big hurry to get new, but her AMPS has been going up steadily...

Good luck with the new juice! Don't be too hard in yourself. You are a great bean! You definitely have a lot going on health wise. I have RA so I can semi-relate but it is nothing compared to all you are dealing with. Get some rest Barb! ((((HUGS))))

Daphne your bean is being very naughty will you have words with her about looking after herself please!

Barb are any of your kids old enough to do the typing for you?
