Morning LL! Moonie dropped to 85 last night so I figure the pen amy have a few more days haha_smiley
Moonie ate & slept today--Up now having a drink of water--Looks sunny & bright today--Guess we will go out & do stuff..food shop & what not..Hope all LLanders will have a Happy Caturday & that all ailing kitties are better--Let's see what Moonie has in store today confused_cat

Hi Roni, You sure have better weather than we do. I don't feel like venturing out at all in this sloshy mess! I guess Moonie is bouncing from the 85. The old pen is not toast!! Yea!

OMG OMG OMG Copper has a lump by his rib cage -My heart just choked! I am so so so so upset!!
Going to vet tuseday night with him--feels like a golf ball by his rib cage underneath-
Please help me I feel so upset!!

Hi Roni,
I just logged on and saw your post. Try to stay calm; I know easier said than done. My GA kitty had a lump, and it was aspirated and found to be benign. Is the lump hard, soft, squishy like? Others will be on soon to weigh. In the meantime here's a big hug and prayer that all will be okay.

No he cant be seen till Tuesday.
It feels hard & affixed to his rib cage-size of a ping pong ball!

The vet will be able to find out what it is, so don't fret now. It could be anything--or nothing at all. Just treat Copper normally so that he won't sense your extreme concern. Stay calm. We're sending healing vines, good thoughts, and prayers that it is nothing at all.

But.. the good news is you found it right away, he has an appointment & whatever it turns out to be.. we will deal with it.
Try to keep busy & maybe have some drinks! As for me.. I will be praying for Cooper & you.. hugs from us to you too!

wow...What a scary thing to find...

so sorry you're having to wait until tuesday, roni...totally understand your concern.
i had to take my mom's cat in for a hard lump attached to his scapula in june...a bit smaller than the one you're describing...
but it turned out benign and he's had no issues since his stitches were removed.

praying hard that Copper's situation is the same.

Meanwhile, Moonie is just rolling along on a nice surf--Just fed her LC & she is doing nicely-
Thanks for all the support--I feel so sick & have to wait till Tuesday for him to see the vet--
Please send some prayers for him..he's a scaredy cat who just got happy in the last 2 yrs..and a total sweetheart! He & Moonie will be 15 in May...

I am sorry you have to wait til Tuesday for Copper... maybe they will have a cancellation later today? We went through a similar situation with one of the civvies - huge lump, they had a cancellation later in the day which i took - hers was an abscess. Try not to worry - i know you are....

Hi Roni,
I wish they could see Copper sooner. Was this the Secretary who scheduled the appointment. Maybe if she told your Vet about the lump, he might squeeze you in today, or earlier than Tuesday night. I'm thinking she schedued the appointment, but the Vet may not be aware of the situation. If not, I would call Monday and Tuesday to see if there are any cancellations. I'm sure you will be doing it.

I know the lump is scary, and nothing anyone says will erase your worry. It really could be nothing major, and I hope that's the case! I wish you could have Cooper seen sooner...the waiting is very hard. :YMHUG: Hang in there Roni!

is Copper acting normal otherwise? eating fine? using LB fine? how is Copper's demeanour?

will the vet on Tuesday be able to do an ultrasound? x-rays? or do you think it's best to take Copper to the ER?

praying for you guys....this is scary indeed....
 
He is absolutely fine & happy-eating normally, LB normal, seems just fine--He was just at the vets last week & cbc & urine tests were all normal!--He had a complete check--There are 3 drs--this one we saw isnt my fave, but is nice..He even said his heart murmur is grade 1 or 2..--
Something told me to look for bumps on him today-a flash idea & there it was!!
He is feeling fine, but our vets know him..I am shattered right now--My vet closed at 1pm today--Guess I will have to wait. My vet tech does the cat scans there.Maybe I'll call her.
Monday night My Old evil(part ime) vet is there--I will never ever let him touch Copper, he hurt him once.
Rather wait till Tuesday--
 
(((Roni))) I'm so sorry for your anguish today....Copper is an honorary civvie in LL and we all want him to be fine. I know you will be smothering even more love on him than you normally do and I will pray this is just a little benign absolutely nothing thing. Hang tight!! We love you all!

if Copper is acting fine then you are ok to wait until Tuesday...i was just wondering if you needed to take him to the ER if he wasn't eating, or using his LB.....and yes if i were you i would ask for Xrays and/or an ultrasound to be on the safe side....this way you get answers...often times the bloodwork doesn't show anything....it's something i learned with Rocket....he had 3 labworks and nothing showed until the ultrasound and xray.....

i don't want to scare anyone but i learned that bloodwork tends to not show lumps or other illnesses like cancer....not saying Copper has either....

go with your gut feeling and if you feel he needs xrays and ultrasound...go for it...

for anyone out there reading your condo....if the labwork doesn't show abnormalities and kitty still "off" then go after xrays and ultrasound....my opinion though...

did Moonie get into something to give runny poo? did you give new food? was the can expired maybe?

just throwing questions out there for you....

take a deep breath and tell yourself EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT!!!!

KEEPING YOU IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AS I KNOW HOW SCARED YOU ARE...BUT DON'T WORRY UNTIL YOU KNOW ANSWERS!!!!...i know easier said than done...but it is FDMB orders!
 
maybe Moonie is sensing the stress...and that isn't to say 'don't stress or it will affect the kitties"...
I know it's impossible not to be scared...
my clumsy point is that we all know how much love there is between you and your babies, and maybe her
intuition caused her liquipoo?

Huge hugs for all of you, Roni. Try to stay calm until you have answers (easier said than done, I know!!)... maybe talking to the vet tech will help since you can't get in until Tuesday?

And very good of you to wait until Tuesday and avoiding the vet you don't like... neither you nor copper need that stress.

I just had a lump aspirated on my dog. Right on her rib cage off to the side. It didn't move with the skin and wasn't squishy. They said it was a fatty lipoma or something like that. It seemed like it bothered her too - didn't want her chest scratched. I was really nervous too. I thought maybe it was a swollen lymph node but I don't think there are lymph nodes on the front of their chest.
