Yesterday
Well, yesterday I gave Gen a token dose of .5u after syringe feeding him, but a little before 5AM the Libre alarms woke me up, insisting that he was <40 ("LO"). It went off multiple times like that, so I didn't feel as though I could risk it being correct, got up, and fed him another syringe (this time of Recovery with a bit of water). Of course, the record now shows (claims) the lowest he went was 60, but I had to make sure. I'm very tired, and I'm not sure about giving him insulin again while he's still only getting fed via syringe, unless he gets up into higher numbers. If he's blue or green at shot time and not eating on his own, I'm skipping the insulin. :/
And yeah, he's still not eating - he hasn't even had a nibble today as far as I can tell. I'm in the office, but I've had the motion sensor on the camera near his food dishes so I know when he goes over there, and multiple times now I've seen him head over (very deliberately/intentionally), stand and snare, sniff one dish, then the other, and finally walk away. It's heartbreaking; he must be so hungry.
(Today, those dishes both contain FF pates, of different flavors. I only have very small amounts of Recovery and Hill's a/d left, and the times he's at least nibbled at food in the last few days, it's been an FF pate.)
My vet is apparently out sick, but I sent her an update, and I called Chewy again and sorted out the budesonide (turns out, this particular delay is because when they canceled the original order and replaced it with a smaller quantity, the rep on their end sent it to my main vet's office instead of the hospital; when I had them switch the vet contact, the prior approval carried over). They say they'll expedite shipping, so we'll see how that goes.
Gen still hasn't pooped (unless he has since this morning - I don't have a cam in the bathroom where the litterbox is). My poor boy. (I'll say this, though - he was quite perky around 5AM when I was dragging myself out of bed! At least, until the feeding, which does not thrill either of us.)
I hope Thursday is treating all of you, and your sweet kitties, very well!
