Good morning LL!
Last night Clyde ended up at a nice 66 right before I went to bed at his +4. With everything going on with Max, I couldn't stay up beyond that. This morning he started out at a respective 74 and following breakfast his +1 was 102, which considering he recently ate I expected a bump.

The waiting game begins today. I get to sit here at work and wait for the vet to call with Max's lab results. I'm hoping that the infection is something that can be treated easily and the steroid shot he got last night helps. If it does, she said she was going to put him on transdermal steroids. I will get it and the insulin refilled at the same time on Monday to save on shipping costs.

Vines for your Max. What kind of steroid shot did he get? Transdermal pred doesn't work nearly as well as the prednisolone pills according to the IM vet I trust and anecdotal info from many. Is it not possible to pill him? The pred pills are really tiny and easy.

Hi @tiffmaxee
Thank you.

I have to look at the paperwork to see what type of shot she gave Max. I think it was prednisone but I'm not 100% sure. Max doesn't like pills and since I've had to dose him with a liquid antibiotic for the past week he's been avoiding me unless I'm in bed or sitting at the computer or on the sofa. I don't want to put him under anymore stress then I have to. If the steroid helps, I will ask about all of my options. I'm working with a compounding pharmacy so maybe it can be turned into a cat treat he will eat willingly :)

They were able to do that for Clyde's heart medication. Clyde gets his insulin shot in the morning and then the treat which he gobbles right up.

The prednisolone can definitely be made into treats. Lots of people use them on the lymphoma list. It's effective.
