Good afternoon,
Mookie had a high start this morning but has dropped into more reasonable numbers. His drop is a little too fast, but it doesn't make sense to me to slow a drop with MC food when the number is already high. Correct me if I'm wrong on that, please. He's subdued, as usual, with high BG, but I'm hoping he'll feel better this afternoon.

It's a beautiful day, and all this week our temps will be in the low 70s. Spring has arrived! Wishing everyone a pleasant day.

My understanding is the low numbers or rapid drops can trigger a bounce so slowing down a dive might be reason to give higher carb food. But do not forget, Mookie is a cat!  He will do whatever he pleases. it's good to see him coming down,
Liz

I guess he missed my comment about dropping the basket ball impersonation

I hope Mookie is feeling better now! I'm not sure about your question, but I know Sid has very big drops often and I sometimes slow them with MC even when he is high. What % do you consider MC?

Hi Randa and Mookie, hope you are both doing well. I'm not sure either about your question. So far he's surfing nice, but things can change. I have a flat, flat kitty, most of the time.

Serryn, that's because he zoomed right past you.

Liz and Lydia, thanks for commenting on the food. MC is 8-11% carbs, isn't it? Mookie bounces so darn much I might as well try it. If it works, I could take the padding off the ceiling.

Ann, flat is good. At least you can predict Maggie's numbers.

Re: 3/11 Mookie PMPS 171

the zoomies are not fun for the kitties or the beans, are they!? punkin's been doing it too. Liz is right, a rapid drop can trigger a bounce even if the result isn't a particularly low number. that's a very good reason to give some carbs to slow things down.

this is one of the reasons people switch a kitty to mini-meals. take all the food you would normally give in the first several hours with/after the shot and divide it up into 3-4 minimeals. feed a mini meal every hour or so. we've just started doing that - haven't stopped the zoomies yet but we're working on it! :-D
