Yes, dose hopping causes higher numbers because you're always fiddling with the shed. Why did you bump to 3 units tonight? Esse very likely got green yesterday, I would give the 2.75 a chance (and we don't increase without spot checks, remember?).

Ok, there's your plate of noodles for the night. How about 2.75 for a while?

Lib, you're correct. Great questions, lots of pasta. I have no good answer. Why I shot 3 last night was because I am dithering about things; my vet wants her at 3, I get very frightened when I shoot a 3 at low numbers (when she is around 100), and bless my heart, I just can't figure out the right dose for Essemama. So I bounce around, and her shed gets messed up, and then I sit here, early morning, and try to figure out just what I was thinking, and why. And can't come up with a good answer.

I'm not fond of pasta for breakfast, but hey...I'll eat it.

We'll put her on 2.75 and keep her there until **she** changes it. (except when I get too scared...).

Poor Esse, having a dithering bean. Bless her...

Umm.... Rule #1: make no decisions about dose before morning coffee (or PM coffee, for that matter) kicks in.

Rule #2: Do what the numbers tell you, not what the vet tells you. You see the numbers and Esse every day. The vet doesn't.

It was one dose. I screwed up by listening to my vet. I thinks she's great but I stopped listening to her and she knows I know more about Gabby and her insulin needs than she does.

Michele, noodles can be good for you. Especially if they are whole wheat.

You'll find the dose for Esse! She's just making you work for it. But you're too experienced a bean to lose your cool and twitch on that dose. Hold steady, woman. Basil still asks about Esse--his first all-night FDMB companion--and has his eye on a condo for her at the Falls.

Oh, Lydia, tell that rascal Basil that Esse is totally in love with him too; and that she will soon join him for another allnighter. LOL. As for dose, we've gone back to the 2.75...and we'll stick with it until the numbers show us otherwise.

SIenne, I've been a wreck this whole week, between school and Esse and life in general. Coffee...I live on that stuff...I should not be legally allowed to drive until I've had a second cup, you know? LOL.

It does, however, look like Esse's cleared this rebound...I'll be watching carefully over the next few days to see what happens...(I have a long paper due on Monday, so I'll be home writing a lot) I just feel bad for Esse that her bean is, apparently, a beanhead...LOL.
