Quick background on Remi: Back in November, I found her sitting across the street from my house; starved for attention; underweight and hungry; super friendly and confident. After no one claimed her, I decided she was brought into my life for a reason and I claimed her. A few days later, my sweet Shasta crossed the Bridge.

Health-wise, Remi seems/seemed pretty healthy (non-diabetic). Every once in a while, she wheezes a little, but never for very long and not often. Also, when I scoop her litter, I sometimes notice little litter balls (pee piles), but they are always accompanied by larger pee piles, so I never thought anything of it.

This past Monday, she had some major eye discharge. I did some warm compresses and that seemed to help. Tuesday/Wednesday went by...nothing exciting to speak of. Then yesterday, from the time I woke up to the time I was about to leave for work, she went to the LB about 15-20 times with only little drops each time. o_O I immediately called my vet and asked to bring her in. The vet was in surgery all morning, so I dropped her off at lunch and they gathered a urine sample to test and of course it came back with crystals, blood and some protein. Meanwhile, I had noticed that her lower lip is huge...like botox/Kim Kardashian big. (By the way, we live in central Florida...everything is blooming and allergies are raging!) SO...now my brain is thinking INFLAMMATION of everything. They prescribed her Clavamox (which I don't love sticking her on antibiotics, but I don't want this to linger.)

Today, when they called with the Urinalysis report, I asked about pain meds...specifically, Bupe (which they allowed me for Shasta...and I still have 2 doses). They called back and said my vet prefers Onsior and it would be waiting. Longest story NOT made short...Onsior for 3 days...is it safe? Anyone have experience with this medicine?

Thank you, Deborah & Remi

We've used it on 2 of the 3 cats. It really seemed to help them and we had zero issues with it. It's an NSAID so if she's having inflammation, it might help.
