Oh, Noodle. You couldn't go two consecutive dosecreases without any NDW, could you?!

ETA: Her CBC came back and her anemia has completely resolved! :woot: She had "a mild elevation of a type of white blood cell called eosinophils" that's typically associated with parasites or allergies. Good thing we did a fecal and that was clear of parasites! She sneezes occasionally, once every couple days or so, never notice any runny nose or watery eyes. She gets drooly for treats, but I don't know if that's anything? Anyone have any practical experience of what I could be keeping an eye on? I'll pop over to main health later and ask there, too.

punkin had higher eosinophils too, and they told me that indicated allergies. we live in Pollen Central, so it made sense to me. I don't think it's anything to worry about - the anemia is a much bigger deal.

Good to know. I wondered if it's from one of the foods during the experimentation, so I'll just keep a close eye on reaction to any new foods I introduce in the future.

And yes, we are THRILLED her anemia resolved as she's recovered. The previous damage to her RBCs is "no longer evident" -- like music to my ears! It's nice to have a doctor who's almost as enthusiastic about her progress as I am. Next step is a dental. She could use one, but after what she's been through so recently, the doctor advised me to wait a bit.

Wonderful about Noodle's anemia!! My GA civvie Mario almost always had elevated eosinophils. I had also heard that stress can cause them to rise, too, so after ruling everything else out, we attributed it to vetty stress.

Have a great evening, Patricia!!

I can't believe you found a green echidna :D

Yay on the anaemia, or rather the lack thereof, that is great news :joyful: I wouldn't worry about the eosinophils being slightly elevated, Vyktors usually are too and the vet is never concerned. But it can be caused by flea irritation too so if there's any chance of fleas I would give her a treatment.

Oh that's good to know! I'm wondering if it's related to some food experiments I did a couple weeks ago that ended in loose stool-diarrhea (it was normal before then). I don't have the most detailed notes on what she tried, but next time I try new foods I will be a much more careful Mamabean! I just got the actual numbers and her eosinophils was only 13%, when normal is 2-12%.

I googled "dancing echidna" -- the green guy coming up was a happy accident! I don't think there's any chance of fleas, but I do have some flea meds around somewhere just in case.
