I did not shoot today because this was a VERY unexpected number and I had to go to work. I actually gave a bit of 12% at +1 before I left as well as leaving a bit of 12% with her food at +3 JIC the depot insulin caused her to drop while I was gone. :nailbiting:

Im in shock that she didnt spike overnight like she always does. I was very surprised to see that her number is still not in the 300's at +8 with no insulin today. Im excited to see what happens tonight and over the next week while Im home.

I did just find out that the FF Chicken and Liver now has fish in ito_O.... Im not sure when that changed in Canada but the ingredients online still dont list fish, but it definitely says it on the cans. That was what Missy ate 90% of the time up until 3 days ago. So maybe that being out of her system is making a difference.

Yeah it's always a challenge to keep up with the ingredients in the cans, especially when you wouldn't think something would be in there! Chicken cat food should have chicken!..I'm not too fussy about which parts of the chicken, but it shouldn't contain fish!

A lot of cats are sensitive to fish. It's one of the top allergens (but it's cheap which is why it gets added to so many cat foods).

I'm not sure why you went up to 1.5 when she dropped to 47 on the 1.25 dose. You only held the 1.25 for 2 more cycles and then increased to 1.5. Might have wanted to hold that 1.25 a few more cycles just to make sure she was through bouncing.

I'm concerned that you didn't test after the drop to 61 last night...she may have dropped a lot lower and the 65 this morning was "on the way up". With you being at work, it might be best for you to go back down to that 1.25 for a few more cycles and wait for the weekend (or some days when you can be off and able to keep a close eye on her)

Hmm...Im not sure why I increased:confused:. I do feel like this dose is high for her since she usually does ok around 0.75 in the past. I dont know what my thought process was.

I did give her some medium carb last night and she semed to settle into bed so I wasnt too worried. She is usually pretty restless when she is low. Im pretty confident she didnt go much lower just by the way she was acting. Also her nadir is usually around +5. But I definitely did not no expect her to still be low this morning.

I am home for the next 7 days so I can keep a close eye on her.
Do you think I should continue to try this dose since I am home... or should I go back to 1.25. Or maybe if she is low again at preshot I will give her 1.25 and continue with that dose then. On March 3rd (1.5 unit dose) her Bg dropped and took syrup and a full 5oz can of 25% to finally keep her above 50.

She is such a challenge
