? 3/10 Merlin Goldenseal + Insulin?

Martin Goldstein DVM recommends the use of Goldenseal combined with 50 micrograms per day of chromium for diabetic cats. He says it helps the pancreas to heal and aids in successful remission or insulin dose reduction/stabilization in cats. Does anyone know anything about this? My wife read about success stories by him with this treatment. Our vet has never heard of it.

Dr Goldstein is a Holistic Vet He recommends herbs rather than Pharmaceuticals. Chromium is supposed to lower the requirement for insulin.
Google it. Lots of info about using Herbal Products

I did look it up a bit, but didn't find anyone who actually had used it and how successful it was for them. I'm not inclined to add something unknown to Merlin's protocol when I have no idea how it may affect his insulin dosing.
