Good Morning, LL!

We've decided not to adjust Kismet's schedule yet since we are on spring break and want to enjoy sleeping in a bit. We will get him transitioned before next week when we go back, but for now, we are capitalizing on every extra minute of sleep we can get! Kismet is feeling fine today. Great appy and great energy. We had a really fabulous day yesterday, and I think it can be chalked up to the mini portions he has been getting since we got the automatic feeder. He now gets 6 small meals a day, and spreading his fuds out seems to be keeping his numbers lower and encouraging longer surfs  I wish we'd done this sooner! Paws crossed that this trend continues today and we spend a lot of time in the lagoon. I think he may be toying with a dose decrease... ideally, he will earn it sometime this week when I am here to monitor, if that's what he is ready for! (paws crossed.)

Thinking of Georgia and Johnny today and sending them healing vines. I was so sad to read that condo last night that I had to sign off for a few hours. I hate it when we lose a LL kitty.

On a happier note, congrats are in order for Rocky and Niki! OTJ baby!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and sending vines to all puds and beans in need.

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +1 132

Hi Courtney, what a great greeen surf yesterday and today looks like she's heading towards some greens. I'm glad the feeder is working out and you see a change with the mini meals. That is great in not adjusting the time for Kismet and just enjoy sleeping in that extra hour. There's always time later to adjust her time. Have a great day.

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +1 132

Paws crossed for more Greens.
The mini meals do help. I've been doing that except lately nighttime isn't on track.
I had the feeder next to me on my nightstand and my DH can hear it's little timer and i have a really quiet one ( 2 compartments)
so i'm experimenting with a lightning/rainstorm cd playing all night to see if it drowns out the timer for him.
If I move the feeder elsewhere, she'll go sleep closer to it and I want her next to me.
It makes less noise than he does.... how do I drown him out? :-x

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +1 132

Ah, sleep - enjoy it while you can! Glad the smaller meals are working out - they seem to work well for Buster, too. Looks like he might be working on a little baby bounce. Hopefully he stays blue and has a good day!

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +1 132, +3 85

Hi Ann, thanks for stopping by! I agree... we can get him switched later. He's got a bit of momentum right now, anyway, so don't really want to interfere!

Hi Rhiannon, I also have the 2 compartment feeder (very quiet) but it does tick. DH has a ticking alarm clock on his side, so it just adds to the symphony. My DH is also a light sleeper, but our feeder doesn't seem to bother him. I keep it on the floor under my bed side table :) K also has dinner in the bedroom for the same reason you feed Shadow in yours... I don't want him to go too far :-D

Hi Tara... I thought it might be a bounce, too, but we've hit the lagoon  Thanks for stopping in.

 We've hit the lagoon!!! and this is after having his second breffi @+2. So he dropped from 129 to 85 after eating an ounce of food  So much happy!

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +2 129, +3 85

Hi, Courtney! Kismet is looking good!

I'm glad the feeder is working so well for you guys.
I wish I could use one, but my drooler and civvie would be the winners of the food in the compartments; Ripley isn't one to defend her food  .

I hope you are having a great day!

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +2 129, +3 85, +5 74, +6 88

Aww, the perks of being an only child! We are actually considering adopting a new kitty when we move... still need to think more about it, though. Don't know how Kismet would take to it :? Thanks for stopping by, Josie!

In other news, we got our raffle tickets for the FDMB raffle! There's a lot of great prizes up for grabs, and all proceeds go to FDMB. Go check out the post on Health if you haven't seen it already!

Nice day for Kis!!! Enjoy Spring Break - I am SOOOO jealous!!!

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +2 129, +3 85, +5 74, +6 88, +9 10

Hi Courtney - Another day with awesome numbers for Kismet. I just love watching her numbers everyday - they never disappoint. I am glad too that the feeder is working out for you. They can be such a help. Maybe Kismet can come over and show Mannie how it's done, and why they are so cool. We have one, but the little stinker won't use it.

Enjoy your spring break! I'd grab every it of extra sleep you can get. Have fun too while you are off.

Looking good, Kismet! You are going to like having your beans around all next week. Good luck figuring out the feeder.
Liz

Re: 3/10 Kismet AMPS 130, +2 129, +3 85, +5 74, +6 88, +9 10

Nothing like a time change and spring break. Good timing. Glad you get a bit of reprieve from the work schedule. Lets hope Kismet takes advantage of this as well and just keeps up in the greens.

I laughed hearing that you are thinking of getting kismet a companion. We've chatted about getting Fur Ball a play mate but I'm thinking he would prefer to keep his only child status. Its taken me too long to get over my Simon and Baxter! And Fur Ball seems to be doing so well that I just don't want to shake things up.

Have a great week and enjoy some of the time off.

Karen

Re: 3/10 Kismet PMPS 129 Get your Raffle Tickets!

Hi Michelle, Kismet would love to come visit Mannie and help him out! Thanks for the Spring Break wishes... I am definitely enjoying it. I need to discipline myself, though, and actually get some work done. I have a bunch of papers to grade and really should get a head start on my three, 20+ page term papers that are due soon.

Hi Liz, he's definitely enjoying it! He's so clingy and affectionate... but like any kid, he'll probably get sick of us in a few days and want his alone time. Right now, he is propped up against my shoulder watching me type  Little lovebug. Thanks on the feeder... so far, so good! I thought for sure he'd break into it by now, but he seems to be more sated and not starving all the time. Before we were using the feeder and just putting his meals down at breffi and dinner, he would typically pick at it for about 2-3 hours and would be absolutely ravenous by the next feeding time. Spreading it out over 4 hours seems to be keeping him full and happy.

Hi Karen, so good to hear from you! about the new kitty... I know. I think K would eventually adjust to a sibling and would probably enjoy the company and a playmate, but he gets jealous if I get too cuddly with DH so I don't know how he'd handle a new kitty coming in and usurping some of his attention  He's so social and affectionate, too, that I'm afraid he might become aloof or his personality will change. He tolerates my sister's cat somewhat (sometimes she babysits when we're out of town) but he gets grumpy, sulky, and hides a lot when he's over there. She has a 7ft cat tree that he will claim and not let anyone near  Brat. He is definitely an alpha, so I am sure if we did bring home a new kitty, he would let it know who is boss.

Hey guys... just a reminder to pick up your raffle tickers from Kat in Health! Tickets went on sale today, and we've already raised $60 for FDMB! All proceeds go to the site, so it's for a good cause we can all get behind.

Re: 3/10 Kismet PMPS 129 Video! Euphoric Cat

Just had to share this video with you guys... just took it about 2 minutes ago. He is so cuddly! He LOVES having his ears rubbed (this helps with testing, I will massage him a bit when he gets poked and he purrs and purrs). Euphoric Cat

Edit: How do you make the youtube video appear? I've tried using the youtube button but it comes up blank.

Re: 3/10 Kismet PMPS 129 Video! Euphoric Cat

I'd say euphoric cat! Meh is soooo handsome. I love how he kind of opens his mouth when he's getting into those head rubs. And very snazzy blue collar!

His numbers are looking superb! Enjoy spring break.

Re: 3/10 Kismet PMPS 129 Video! Euphoric Cat

Thanks, Marje! He of course stopped purring as soon as I started recording... he's a bit camera shy ;-) Thanks on the collar! When I got it, the only two options were blue or pink... crazy how even kitties can't escape gender norms ohmygod_smile I just ordered him a yellow and green one on one of my late night ambien shopping sprees, for a change. He used to have a red one, but the stoopid break-away clasp was too good at breaking away. I also got him this cool medical alert tag for diabetes, just in case. And a bunch of toys. And more treats. Yes, he is spoiled...

Re: 3/10 Kismet PMPS 129, +1 138 Video! Euphoric Cat

you just need to put the funky video code in between [you tube] [/you tube] (but no space in youtube)

Re: 3/10 Kismet PMPS 129, +1 138, +3 83, +4 70 Video!

 I just gave him a minor asthma attack... I was brushing his teeth, like I've done a million times before, and he started gasping and stuck his little tongue stuck out. This has never happened before, and was obviously stress induced. He wasn't struggling too much (no more than usual) or protesting, but he was obviously not happy about having his teeth done. Poor guy. I gave him one actuation of albuterol which stopped it immediately. I'd just checked his bg, +4, minutes before and got a nice 70. Wouldn't be surprised if this shoots him up, though. Today would have been one week asthma free... back to 0.

Edit: Well, his bg doesn't seem to be affected by the attack, which is the good news. But I am still feeling guilty as hell, though.
