Good Morning Lantus Land! ~O) ~O) ~O)

Just a weee bit of a late start today. Invoices to do etc.

Atlas seems to be doing a slow shift down on the 2u. I continue to hesistate to up the dose. I am starting to see more blue and green...than the prolonged yellow. His 7-day is 184, and 14-day 186, 30-day 202. So he is coming down...albeit slowly. Even the kibble raid the other day didn't produce 300's.

The weather here has been springlike in the mid-40's with rain...lots of rain. The wind though has been brutally cold against the body. I still needed my winter coat, scarf, ear muffs, and gloves yesterday. I will need them again today as the forecast has significantly changed to a winter storm warning.

So the 10-day weather forecast changed yesterday afternoon from springlike through the weekend to a winter storm. A 3-day event is predicted with HEAVY wet snow 6-10 inches. I hate spring snows. Hate them.

Last night Gary stopped by for dinner on the step and he wasn't just top coat wet, he was soaked. There is a winter storm on the way and a wet winter undercoat is a killer. So, I again scooped him up and he is again in the foster room. He looked around last night as I placed him on the bed...with that situational familiarity. I fetched the litter box, food, and water. As I got things re-established he sat in the cat tree watching me. I reached over to give him a pet on the head and my hand was met with a head-butt.

He let me towel dry him, all the while purring and meowing. When I had finished...he again laid his head in my hand. I sat down in the chair to just ponder this little wild thing. He dismounted the cat tree, got a bite to eat and returned to the cat tree to study me just as intently as I was studying him. He made no attempt to groom his still wet coat, but instead drifted off to sleep. I quietly left the room.

This morning there were some chatterings, but mostly about food and the litter box. Attie laid in front of the door with his front paws sticking underneath. Gary made no attempt to investigate. His fur is still wet underneath as I suspected it would be. All the shelter availability of the lodge would not keep him from going hypothermic from a wet undercoat. Perhaps he will get that second trip to the vet after all.

Good morning guys .. it sure is nice to read that atlas is coming down, but I must say the highlight of this post was the story of gary, trusting you enough to lay his head in your hand ... You have a lifelong friend now ... hope you guys stay safe and dry during the snow storm coming .. have a great day!

YEP...big smiles here!! Gary may be feral...but he's yours!!

Attie-man, may i gently point out that you're headed the wrong way?

Great WCR for Attie! It is great to think that he is coming down over all.

The Gary report is the best. You tow have a special bond, even though he is wild. He knows all that you do for him. I cannot help but smile thinking about it all. You have no doubt saved him once again.

Looks like your dosing strategy for Attie is working.

Gary is worming his way into your heart. You are his hero, for sure. I hope that he will dry out soon and that maybe, maybe, he'll get that trip to the vet!

We're having the same awful weather as you; rain and wind on top of our 30 inches of new snow earlier this week. We now have a 12-foot plowed up "snow dune" at the end of our driveway. We had to dig a tunnel to get out of the house the other day!

Spring is right around the corner!

I liked that story about Gary, this morning. Actually, I like following the story of the little wild cat. You have a very kind heart, Beth. :YMHUG:

I have only been able to give J.D.'s shot 15 minutes early so far, and can't do any more time adjustments until tomorrow night.

I hope Attie shows you some green, tonight.

Great numbers for Attie, and a heartwarming story about Gary. :)

I had to shoot at +14.5 on Saturday, so have had to make up for that this week, plus DST. ugh!!
