2/29 Covenia Shot He had a pokie break because of the vet visit but basically he's still the same. The vet said it could take up to a week before we see any changes. Overall he seems fine considering.

Hope all the kitties are doing good today and sending vines and prayers to all in need.

So, in other words, Doodles got a shot of ABs and you got vet's orders to keep wearing your patience pants? ;) Fingers crossed that you will start to see a difference soon!

I hope it helps.

I read the link yesterday that you posted about convenia and, keep in mind, just as he said Dr. Lisa's opinion was just one opinion...so is his. I tend to automatically discredit a vet who makes a remark like "This and several other articles I read on her website from my perspective significantly question her opinions and credibility." He might disagree with her opinions but he should not question her credibility. You could survey a room of vets and I bet you'd come up with many different opinions on a dx and treatment plan for a specific condition. Dr. Lisa has helped many, many, many people on this forum and elsewhere. And just because the guy who wrote his opinion is a holistic vet, it doesn't carry anymore weight with me and I have only taken my cats to holistic vets for the last 15 years. In fact, it was a holistic vet who gave Gracie a convenia shot without asking me and she went into anaphylactic shock.

So...am I a fan of Convenia? No, I'm not but I believe that for some, it's the best alternative because the cat cannot be pilled or won't take liquid a/bs or is just too fractious. But Convenia can also cause vomiting and diarrhea just as any a/b can. ECID. Gracie took clavamox for months and it never bothered her one iota but it makes many, many cats sick.

I am glad that Doodles is doing well with it and I hope it can address whatever might be going on. The thing about his BG is that it didn't gradually change. It was as if someone flipped a switch. That is what befuddles me.

paws crossed for better numbers ahead with the a/b.

Me and you both Marje. No matter what dose, what I feed, when I feed his numbers haven't changed at all....a 20-30pt difference is like nothing. IDK if we'll try another vile of Lantus or switch all together if nothing improves in the next week or so. I also agree with polling a room and getting a variance in opinions. Personally I don't like any AB but felt my hands were tied and it was the best option for Doodles. So far he doesn't seem bothered by it.

Slight downward movement if you want too call it that. He's still flat flat. Hopefully we'll see some action in the next day or two. I bought the S&C Duck...well, it may take a while as he wasn't that into it. The AB's certainly seem to make him drowsy which is one of the side effects. Luckily no vomiting and he's eating OK...could be better.

We're all holding our breath waiting for you to respond to the ABs, Doodle - don't let us run out of oxygen while waiting!

How's your patience pants, Karen? Need me to send you my pair? I don't use 'em anyway ;-)

Is there any way that your vet or the pharmacy would consider selling you just one individual Lantus pen? I am still crossing my fingers that the antibiotics will make a difference, but, just in case, I would probably try to give Lantus one more chance... especially since Doodles was doing so well on it.
