? 26 Jan, AMPS "HI" Milly - too much, or not enough, insulin?

Hi. I’m not used to world numbers but I assume the colors are the same. I don’t know why you reduced from .75. What method are you using, TR or SLGS? With all the tests you are doing my guess would be TR and I don’t see any green tests. I thInk your cat is not getting enough insulin.

Thanks..

You can get world numbers by multiplying the numbers by 18.

I was advised to reduce on the 20th because of the decreasing numbers that day (the blue numbers) where they fell after +6. It's my feeling too that she needs to go back to 0.75u...

I see. I definitely think you can increase back to .75.

Hi Jo and Milly, and welcome. I do read World numbers, and yes, you need to go back to 0.75 units.

If you read our Dosing Methods Sticky Notes, you will see we use one of two dosing methods here that help us decide how to change the dose. With both those methods, we reduce the dose if kitty goes below a certain number. That's 50 (2.8) for Tight Regulation and 90 (5.0) for Start Low Go Slow. Having lower numbers after +6 has nothing to do with it. My cat liked to nadir late on Lantus, typically from 7-9 hours after her shot, but occasionally as late as +12. Each cat differs in when the nadir or low point is, +6 is just "typical" or average. Cats also tend to nadir later when they are breaking a bounce.
