I'm crossing my fingers, her BG is right on the edge tonight so I'm going to wait till it goes up a little more before giving her insulin.

I'm hoping we will be throwing a party soon!!!

Heather,
I was going to post in your other thread a couple days ago where you asked people to look at your SS. I looked at it, and all I could think to write was "what's NOT to like about it?"

Raja is doing terrific! That 209, had she just eaten dinner? I wouldn't be the least bit discouraged in your shoes. But I'm at a loss to tell you how to get her just that "one little bit" further along. I do think you and she are "almost there" though.

I did feed her, so I knew it was going to go up I just didn't expect it to jump up that quickly.

I umm also gave her some friend chicken minus the crust so I'm sure that didn't help any at all.....

I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up, I do have a lot riding on her getting better. Life is about to change around here and it would be a heck of a lot easier if I didn't have to give her insulin.

Any chicken that's been deep fried (including chicken wings) will raise BG significantly with Bandit (not that I feed it to him on purpose, but he's like a raccoon when it comes to stealing food). I suspect that the chicken is the culprit!

Grilled or Boiled chicken is ok to give, but stay away from the fried. :-D

I would think that any ill effects from the chicken would clear within a day or so? Sort of like if a kitty finds the civvie stash of kibble and raids the pantry?

Her bg stopped pretty quickly too.

Funny enough my boyfriend tried to give her chocolate cake the other day and ingot on to him about not giving her table food and here I do exactly that. But hey I've had her for almost 16 yrs he's only been around for 2 of those years when he puts in as many years as me he can feed her what he wants!

Thanks for the info on the pine litter. It does have it's draw backs bit it's a great alternative to wbcl. I picked up the clumping kind rather than the pellets

Good Morning, Heather and Raja ~

Just wanted to stop in to say "hi" and to tell you that you're both doing great. That one little blip (chicken snack) hopefully won't set you two back much. Looking forward to hearing how Raja's numbers are today.

Hang in there!

Eva
