Actually, Yong, just got a call from my vet saying that they noticed a heart murmur (never detected previously) and recommended an echocardiogram to be done today to assess before any dental is done. That doesn't require any sedation generally and I can pick her up later. The result should be in by tomorrow and that will determine whether/what dental is done at a future date.

Still processing all this. I've had cats with murmurs before and one who died suddenly from complications of cardiomyopathy. Not the best news to get today but I'll let the mental dust settle for a bit. o_O:(
 
Oh, that was like the cherry on top of Maury's FD diagnosis. Murmur had not been detected by his other old Vet six months before :banghead:. Thankfully new Vet heard it as well so she knows about it with his dental procedure but no EKG has been done yet since it's expensive :(. So I just check his heart and respiratory rates once in a while for now.
 
Sorry to hear Teasel's dental has been postponed.Fingers crossed that you get the all clear and Teasel can have his dental done soon. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Linda,
Actually, it's Teasel's sister who was supposed to have a dental today. She's having the echocardiogram. I already know that Teasel has a murmur o_O so he'll need that done too before his dental, whenever that happens. His teeth are actually in good shape - small mercies!
 
Teasel, you've done your Momma proud today...keep up the good work!:joyful: You earned some extra scritches for good behaviour!
