1. Can your cat's BG be affected by the excitement of you coming home after being gone a couple of days? Hillary's was really high yesterday when we returned from being gone over the weekend but was much better today.
2. I see where folks are giving .25 unit increments in insulin, how do you measure .25 unit on your syringe, are there smaller syringes for this?

Hi Trish - Welcome to FDMB! Yes, your kitty's #s can be affected by your homecoming. Also by seeing a squirrel outside the window. Or after rambunctious playtime. Or even in anticipation of the next meal! So when you see those #s return to more usual levels pretty quickly, as you did, that's usually a good indicator that the spike you saw was, indeed, due to excitement.
It's easier to dose in small increments using U100 syringes marked on the half unit. BUT if you're using a U40 insulin like ProZinc, for example, you must use the conversion table we have available here on the website to do that.
