2 fur shots the week before 2nd curve due/ Lantus

We're coming up on week 7 of diabetes diagnosis and daily insulin. I am still getting the hang of home testing, and brought Boots to the internist for his first curve almost a month ago. He is due for his second curve next week and I hoped he would start to show signs of remission soon, since he is steroid-induced and I have made changes in medication and diet.

Unfortunately, for the first time this week Sunday or Monday, I gave him a fur shot, and then it happened again today, both times in the AM. Because he's on Lantus, I think this is going to affect his BG numbers for at least a few days. I don't want to throw off his data by getting his curve done if he is still messed up from missed insulin. How many days could it take to normalize after 2 fur shots in one week?

Hi I'm not a Lantus user so can't help sorry bit just to say that it may be worth posting this on the Lantus board as well.
I'm tagging @Diane Tyler's Mom as I believe she is a Lantus user.
PS don't beat yourself up about the furshots they happen to even the most experienced which I'm definitely not!

tap on your avatar where it says your name ,then hit profile page ,tap on that ,then go up to the very top, upper right hand side and tap on your name ,it will bring down a drop box, tap on signature, the signature will be under settings, tap on the signature then and you can start to add what I posted above, make sure you hit save ,

Thanks all for responding. My question was not about dosing, but about how long his numbers might take to normalize, so that when I do his curve and present the numbers to his internist, the numbers aren't too off.

Depends on the timing of the fur shots and dosing. If we could see your test data, we'd be able to answer this question. Lantus is a depot insulin, it takes time for the depot to build and stabilize. Many things can impact it such as fur shots, skipped or reduced doses, changes in timing of shots, dose changes.
