2/9 Tiger AMPS 277, PMPS 274

I am so so so sad to read this. What’s going on? How is this different than when this happened before? I am so upset now.

Oh, I certainly haven't given up on Tiger! He is tough as nails! And he has a strong will to live. I bet you can bring him back. I'm praying for Tiger every day and every night.

Back last July, did the vet think that he had a stroke? I've been thinking about this. I remember the possibility of a brain tumor was mentioned, but Tiger made a good recovery so I thought that meant no brain tumor. So if there was a possibility that he did have a stroke, I am surprised the vet would not have put him on a blood thinner to help prevent a future stroke. There are some blood thinners that can be given to cats and a lot of cats with heart disease take them -- and of course, the old baby aspirin every 72 hours that I used to give to my Katya who had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy -- and I believe some HCM cats still are on this baby aspirin therapy every 72 hours -- although now there is another Rx blood thinner available. I really don't know if they do this for cats to prevent strokes like they sometimes recommend for people.

Can't thank you enough Suzanne:bighug:

The vet presumed he had a spinal stroke last year which is different than the cardiovascular kind-and so not treated with blood thinners...

Yes. I remember when this happened to my cat Tabitha... or at least the vet referred to it as a "vascular accident" when she could not walk well at all and kept falling down. It was her hind legs. She did make a recovery from that. No blood thinners. But I am now wondering what causes the spinal stroke/vascular accident and if it's not a clot, then what is it?

This happened to her a few times. Now I'm thinking I should have put her on blood thinners? But she's been gone since January 2, 2020.
