Morning! Thanks everyone yesterday for letting me know it was a bounce and that's why Fiefel had the high numbers. I didn't realize he could bounce after a set of good looking numbers - but it does make sense since his body wouldn't be used to it. Today we're starting lower again which is good!

I'm also looking into getting the Freestyle Lite meter - the test strips are 1/2 the price, available at the drug store (huge bonus - no pre-ordering from the vet), and the blood sample size is the same as the AlphaTrak.

Good Morning Jackie and Fiefel! When you get the new meter, let me know how you like it in comparison! I order ATrak strips from Amazon with same price as Vet and free shipping, but it's getting expensive.

I don't know how you guys afford the Atrak strips ohmygod_smile

I really love the Relion Confirm. I wish it was available in Canada. I'm going to make another trip to the US and load up. $40 per 100 vs. 75 up here. And it uses little blood and sips up with no problems.

I use the Reli-On micro and really like it myself. The AT test strips are so much more expensive...yipes!
Nice mid yellow for Fiefel....can you get to blues from here Fiefel? confused_cat

Yes the Atrak strips are certainly expensive! I get them at the cost rate I think from the vet, ends up being about $1/strip.. Curious to see the difference with the Freestyle Lite! I will post my findings.


Went home on my luch hour and did a test - 365 - so he's back up. Another bounce? Did something go wrong with my AM shot? Not too sure...
 
I guess Fiefel knew what to do after all - his number dropped on its own this afternoon! He likes to keep me on my toes I guess
