Newbie, here, and noticed your beautiful Templeton. Looked at his SS and see he's had a dose decrease. Yay!
Did you find it difficult with all Templeton's fur a trick to get a proper shot? Sometimes I wonder if it's me giving a bad shot or if it's just the way it is with FD & Glargine because it's so discouraging to get blues and a few greens just to go back into the red or worse.
Hope your baby shows improved BGs today! I'm impressed with all your testing.
Hi! Yes, recent decrease, hopefully he levels out and it will be enough insulin.
Leo is a cutie, I just love long haired white kitties.
You know, I don’t have trouble, but I also don’t have anything else to compare it to… The only thing I would say, is never be in a rush when you’re dealing with an ocean of fur.
I take my time to let him get comfy- semi-stretched out on his side, give a few check scratches, and then part his furs until I can see a good amount of skin. Then I pull up a quadrant of furs right in front of the exposed skin area, making sure I have a good bare spot to poke and I’m not going to hit muscle. Just make sure you can always see the skin, because as you know, the furs are so long, you might be shooting into the abyss otherwise!
One more thing I’d say, if you think it’s a fur shot, it’s never a fur shot

I cannot tell you how many times when we first started that I thought I gave a fur shot based on his numbers, but the pros here assured me it wasn’t, and I just need to exercise patience.
It will be discouraging for a while, but Leo is going to get into better numbers, I promise.
