Simon continues to be higher first thing in the morning and then stays mostly in the greensd the rest of the day. I tried feeding him at +7.5 last night instead of +8 or +9, but no change noted. Should I go back to not giving him any food overnight? This is very frustrating because he is mostly in the greens after the +3 in the AM. I feel like I am doing a science experiment, and I was never very good at science, so this is pretty frustrating. Any thoughts on feeding schedule changes?

Simon is happy and I have seen 4 P's so far this morning. He is back in bed right now because he knows I am getting ready to go to work so he has the day off. No extra poking today. Happy Monday.

Re: 2/7 Simon AMPS 135

Good morning guys .. no advice here as far as the feeding schedule goes .. I know you are frustrated with the higher morning numbers but remember it is still a nice number and also, cats tend to have higher numbers in the morning .. just like human diabetics ... have a great day!

Re: 2/7 Simon AMPS 135

Hi Georgia, The word on the street is that AMPS is always the last number to come down. So don't worry. As regards the snack at +7.5, or +8 or +9, I guess you should continue the experiment! Maybe experiment with the amount of food?

Anyway, Simon is looking great.

I was never good at science either and am myself still experimenting with the food thing. I guess the word of the day is patience, not that I'm any good at it.

Good luck with it all and hope you and Simon have a great day

Re: 2/7 Simon AMPS 135

I would still feed in the night. Maybe this will be normal for Simon? What syringes are you using btw?

Maybe you should change your subject to be reflect needing BG/feeding help?

I'll be watching again to see what advice you get. The feeding experiment just didn't work for Maverick. So I just continued to let him free feed vs withholding food.

Re: 2/7 Simon AMPS 135

Karrie, the syringes are marked in .5 increments and they are the CVS brand. Now that I am having to do the .10, it has been pretty difficult to get consistency. I have been throwing out alot of syringes because the stopper doesn't go down all the way to 0. Are there any better syringes that make microdosing easier?

Re: 2/7 Simon AMPS 135

Cool - you are looking for consistency. I was thinking if you weren't doing that - it may be behind his numbers.

I think you are in the US so others will have input. From the microdosing stickies someone compares three syringes and the monojects came out the best for consistency. There is trouble with airbubbles but in either mine or Mannies condo someone gave me a new tip to try. The monojects I just bought, 0 is 0 every single time so far.

Don't try and find the ones we are using LOL. They are difficult with that stupid safety sleeve. Someone posted that you can find smaller guage (31) in 1/2 increments 3/10cc monoject on Hocks with the short needle. You may have a different preference than that guage and needle length which you can probably find in monojects. The US can get anything

Love the picture Celi! Karrie, ok, I won't use the ones you have because they do sound a little difficult, especially with the longer needle length. I'll keep searching.
