grr_red grr_red grr_red Gracie was supposed to have her serum bile acid assay test done this morning. So we fasted her last night after midnight...check. Her appt was for 8 this morning so we decided to delay her shot from 7 to 7:30 so she wouldn't go very long without food since she likes to come down from AMPS to +4. Check...all good. But I had to feed Gus because he was waking up the neighborhood with his chuffs for food ;-) He likes freeze dried chicken on his food but he has only a few teeth left so sometimes food flies all over the place. Little brown baby girl was not trying to get his food but was watching from about 4 feet away. Suddenly...his tongue flicked a pinky-finger nail sized piece of freeze dried chicken onto the floor. Baby girl was on it like a tick on a dog before I could pick it up. But I thought....what harm can one, tiny piece of freeze dried chicken do? So I took her for the test and I did tell them about it and the vet said "no go.....MUST be a complete fast...not one tiny flick of food or it can definitely obscure the test results". grr_red grr_red grr_red grr_red So I had to bring the little stressed, "starving" sweetheart home with no test and try again tomorrow. I could have insisted but I don't want to put her through it all twice or pay for the test and have the results possibly affected. But today...a perfect day since her BG was higher and I knew I could fast her. Oh well.....never underestimate a starving baby girl!
Since she is going to bounce and have vetty stress, we are taking the day off to do something fun for us....think we are going to play golf since I bought Mike some new golf stuff for his bday. Have a great day!
