I know this is hard to believe, but Daphne never had diarrhea in her long life of 17 years. I know I saw posts with advice, but of course I can't remember what to do now. This may be why her numbers have been off for a few days. It's not very bad at all, just a little that we saw in the little box.

todays #'s AMPS 148, +9 123, +11 88, PMPS 81

Thanks for any and all advice.

If you have recently transitioned to wet ...this may be a very temporary thing and clear itself in a few days.

If not, a trip to the vet with a sample may be advised before you do anything at home.

Otherwise how is the appetite and activity levels?

Thanks Beth, her appitite is just as great as it always is

I looked down at some posts and saw one for Zener with a lot of good advice, so I may go with that for now. If it gets worse with the Pepcid I'll call my vet.

I would try FortiFlora. It is goooooood tasting acording to my cats, and it helps with diarrhea.

Oh, thanks Linda and Dyana, silly me, I use probiotics for myself, and I remember 20 years ago, my son needed the same "fix", and it worked for him too! This old brain of mine just isn't that quick these days.

My cats love FortiFlora so much, I use it as an appetite stimulant when they don't like what's on the menu. I just used it, and they went from turning up their noses, to eating all their dinner. It's good stuff to have on hand.

Jesse has had diarrhea several times. Once it was really just diarrhea, but the 2nd time the X-Ray showed that he was actually badly constipated. If there's just a little poo coming out it could be constipation (it squeezes past the hard poo).

We have used Fortiflora for Zener for diarrhea after he was on antibiotics and had pudding poo, and we have also used it for an appy stimulant. We even used it to transition him from dry kibble to wet food. We try to stay to one packet a day or less. It has been very helpful! The pepcid helps relieve acid stomach, not sure if it helps much with pudding poo. ;-)

Pepsid isn't for diarrhea. You can try FortiFlora or even a human probiotic. Depending on what you use, will dictate the amount If you're using a human probiotic, I would start very slowly -- no more than 1/3 of the amount. I'd also point out that you're treating a symptom without knowing the cause. Since Daphne has never had diarrhea, I'd look at food as a cause. If you're able to rule that out, and it persists, I would think a vet appointment is in order.

Thanks again, Dyana for the "appetite info".

Thanks Carolyn,... especialy the "could be constipation (it squeezes past the hard poo)", I had to discribe to my DH, who was still eating his dinner... (he cleans the box in the AM), so I had to tell him about that…he never even skipped a beat eating his dinner

Thank you Celi, for the "norma-poo" vines.

Thanks you Anne, for also letting me snoop around your condo, and the difference as to when to use Pepcid.

Hope I got all that right. Daphne is doing well right now, just sleeping for about an hour or so, last number +2 81.

Sorry Sienne, your post crossed in the air. I will take all of what you said and review it in the morning if Daphne is still showing signs… It was a very small amount in the litter box, but I don't want it to go any farther, so I jumped on here after I saw it. I'll see what she leaves me in the morning for sure, or if any, tonight.

Thank you ALL

  Now THAT'S a cat lover guy :-D

Yup, thats my DH, nothing bothers him, and yes, he loves his baby Daphne.

Thanks Anne, I think Zener is a cool name for a cat, his name fits his pic.
