After work the family and I were cleaning the house. We get a yearly ant infestation around this time of the year and we had to make the house spotless and then set down ant traps, it was a ton of work. It's been a little over 24 hours though since setting the traps down and we haven't seen a single ant, so hopefully that's a good sign.

It's also almost been a year since Tip's diagnosis, and what a year it's been. But I'm hoping I made the right decision by upping her dose to 10.5U. I'm really starting to doubt it because, from the looks of it, her nadir may be much later than normal lately. So I'm hoping I might be able to just take a bunch of naps and testing in between naps to see if I can catch a nadir. Also, my brother was nice enough to try to test Tip tonight since my grandpa took a family friend grocery shopping and I was in class. He couldn't get enough blood though, so I just took it when I got home.

Since changing Christmas's dose, as per vet instruction, she's dropped weight. So I'm thinking of bringing that up when my grandpa and I go to pick up her refill.

Is Tips having a good appy? There got to be a reason for weight loss.

Oh, Tip's fine, it's Christmas that's having problems. They've both had really good appetites, but Christmas has really bad constipation from Irritable Bowel.

Well, I'm tired just READING about your cleaning adventure! We had problems with ants a couple of years in a row. Doug would go out and eliminate all the hills he could find in the yard, trying to be proactive, but somehow they soldiered on. :YMSIGH: Oreo liked having them. He'd hang out by their entrance, put his paw on one, lick the paw and repeat! I think he was disappointed not to have them last year - he was the only one!

YAY, for your brother trying to test. We haven't found family/nearby friend we can get to assist. :YMSIGH:

Hope you figure out what up with Christmas' weight. Hershey lost weight (main reason we took him to the vet to start with). We got him almost back up to his ideal weight, but he couldn't hold it. He seems to feel good at his current weight, so I gave up trying to fatten him up. Wish not being able to gain weight was MY problem!

Have a great night -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

I remember back when I was little and we had the new queens. YUCK YUCK YUCK! The kitchen would be covered in them, all flying about. :-x I'm just happy they were only soldier/worker ants. I wish the girls would've eaten the ants! They were even in my laptop, had to overheat it to fry them out.

I'm happy he tried. :) Hopefully you'll be able to find someone, it's nice to know that I can be at school and Tip can still get the care she needs.

Definitely. I'm thinking it was the decrease in the flaxyl(sp?) and increase in the laxatone that did it. Christmas seems to be happy at her current weight, but it just makes me so nervous because you can feel her ribs and it makes me feel like I'm going to break her if I don't treat her like she's made of glass. :?

I know what you mean about feeling their bones. Hershey's hips are still so bony, I don't know if he'll ever fill out again. But, he seems to feel good, so I try not to think about it.

Well, I'm going to test once more and hopefully, Hershey will let me go to bed. Well, for a nap, at least. Only 3 hours until the 5am shot time...Goodnight...
