OK China...that +4 is better...but that AMPS really stinks!!

Now I have to take your Grandmabean to the cardiologist this afternoon, and since she's not been eating much, I'm taking her out to lunch first, so you just mind your P's and Q's while I'm gone and don't pull any funny business!

Unfortunately, the cardiologist says mom has a leaky valve (she's had one for years, but it's gotten much worse) and he suggested surgery (open heart) .....Mom's 85 years old and just had triple bypass in Nov 2013 and she isn't interested in having any more major surgery. I guess I can't blame her on that since she had a tough recovery from the last one

If it were up to me, I'd probably have her at the surgeon's office ASAP to talk about risk versus reward, but for now, I think we're going to try something a little less invasive. He said he wanted to do a TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram) which is where they put a tube down her throat to get better pictures of the valve and see if there might be any other options, but neither she nor I are real happy with this doctor lately. He's always been very good and she has always trusted him, but in the last 3 times we've been to see him, he hasn't even listened to her heart. He hasn't touched her with a stethoscope so I think we're going to see if we can find another heart doctor to see if we can get some better answers...and if not better answers, at least better care.

I really don't know what's going on...the only major "difference" in the last week has been completely switching her over to the RadCat and that really shouldn't be making any difference.

Wish I could find some time to get her up to the vet to have her get the once over....and her yearly bloodwork
 
High before the low? Bounces can take 6 cycles to clear, today was cycle 5. Paws crossed she's just messing with your mind. I like to take Neko in every 6 months for b/w - diabetes can be hard on kitties.

I hope you can find an alternate heart doctor for your mom.
 
Come on down, China!! Sending lots of vines to your mom, and to you too. I think getting a second opinion is always a good idea. I hope China makes her way to some prettier colors tonight. Not that she isn't still pretty in pink, of course.
 
Well still yellow at +5, so I guess I can think about going to bed early tonight!

Would have been more than willing to stay up longer and have her back in blues....or even greens, but don't look like that's happening tonight
