Yesterday's Condo: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/2-3-gobbles-amps-233-5-116-8-127-pmps-187-6-89.132518/

Gobby had a nice slide yesterday, all P's and was his usual sweetie self....hopefully today as well....His PMPS +6 last night was 89 (1:30 am....I have to get used to a screaming alarm clock again--couldn't find the shut off button in the dark, so I yanked the cord out of the wall). I tucked him into the bed next to me after that test and we feel back to sleep together <3 It is so darn hard to measure .25. Does anyone know how many drops are in .5 unit? I am practicing with water and a used needle...drawing up .5 into the needle, then trying to count the drops....I figure, for me at least, the best way to get .25 unit is to draw up .50 then subtract drops.

Hi Kat - I haven't stopped in yet to say Hello again. I think of you and Gobbles whenever my furkids have venison for dinner. ;) Sorry you are back again but I'm hoping this is a short term thing. Gobbles seems to have found his green speedo again. :D

I have heard 10 drops per 1 unit, but I tried it once and did 8. I think it partly depends on what type of syringe and how big you make the drops. What's important is what's consistent for you. I find it much easier to dose using calipers.

Hi, Kat. Sorry I haven't stopped by sooner. It was a hectic weekend. (Since Gobs went into remission I moved from Chicago to Columbus, OH. I've been here for 9 mos and just bought a condo and moved over the weekend.)

I like these numbers. I'd like it even better if Gobbles got back to the Falls, though!

Nice slide to the lagoon for Gobbles today. I also use calipers. I just recently switched syringes and tried counting drops to see if there was the same amount in one unit. It didn't seem that easy to me to count drops.

Thank you Carla, Sienne & Wendy...I tried at least a dozen times practicing with water and a used needle to count drops, being sure to have the plunger tightly pushed in when drawing up the water and flicking out any bubbles. I was getting 3 and 4 drops for a .50 unit....so at shot time, I drew .50 into the syringe and expressed 2 drops....

Oh, Kat....sorry to see that you are back and that Gobby Ray has decided that he wanted a taste of insulin again. Hopefully it's just for a while. Hey Gobbles.....listen up buttercup......go back to the falls!!!!

Thanks Deb....I'll tell him what you said....slightly comforting in a way to be back; this time around, I know what to do
