Morning! We had a blue-tiful last day and night spent surfing in some nice numbers! And this morning, I believe here is the bounce I was expecting

Thanks for visiting last night/this morning, Wendy, Tricia, Michelle, Ella and Liz. I love the support you give! Yesterday: Chyna 2/3

I was going to dosecrease this morning but decided on tonight. Chyna showed me that she is trying to get to those greens, we were almost there yesterday! :-D Chyna was purring this morning and was up in her spot for testing. Her left eye is still watering, I cleaned it last night with a warm washcloth and am using the L-Lysine for the past 4 days. I'll give it a few more days before I worry...ok well I'm worried, but I'll give it a bit more ;-)

I'm having trouble with the box of syringes I bought, but I don't have a receipt and I don't remember where I bought this one, I have two sitting here. They load ok, but they only push up, they don't twist up so I can measure drops  I always push the plunger up and down...I'm not sure if that is something I can do an exchange for...anyone have experience with this or an idea for a fix?

Well, I've got some work to do, BBL! Have a good Tuesday LL, and thanks for visiting us!

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

Morning Rachel ~O) ~O) ~O)

ah the dreaded bounce.... well at least it isn't too bad of one. Off to the blues today Chyna? Best think about it. I hear there may be more juice for you. ;-)

I had a kitty once whose one eye watered all the time. We never did quite figure out why. It didn't seem to be adversary affecting her,and there were no underlying issues, so we just ended up taking it as one of those things, cause unknown. I too just kept he eye clean, as best I could. Some days it was there, other days it was not. Any chance it could be weather related?

I ran into that a few times with the syringes too. Drove me nuts, as it was so hard to measure a dose. I found that if I worked the plunger some, up and and down and around before I filled it that helped some, but not always. I ended up tossing some. I just don't know how else you could fix that problem.... Good luck!

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

After all that blue, a sunny yellow isn't all that bad!

Hopefully she'll drop back to at least the blues today for you.

Hey Chyna!! There's a dosecrease threat for you!! Better get on that elevator and come on down to the lower floors!

I've had a few of those syringes too Rachel...the real PITA is that you can't really tell they're going to be "sticky" until you've got the insulin pulled up..and I hate to waste insulin!

Michelle has a good idea!!...before pulling any insulin up, push/pull the plunger a little to get the "lubricant" spread around. I'll have to try that too!

Have a great day Rachel....Chyna did so well yesterday so maybe she'll surprise you

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

Thanks Michelle, I hope this is the highest point of the bounce :? I hope the eye is nothing, she does have allergies and scents bother her too. I always think the worst like dental needed ohmygod_smile . She doesn't go outside so not sure on the weather...yep on the syringes, I do push/pull the plunger to lubricate and it worked a few times...and didn't a few times. Argh. Guess I'll just have to tough it out!

Hi Chris! Thanks, I hope to see blue again today, despite Chynas record of bouncing up slowly...backwards slide. I have been trying that trick of lubing the insides, I guess it's a silly question as how do you fix insides of a manufactured syringe? Maybe I will try it longer than I have or pushing it back all the way. Good to know I'm not the only one swearing at them  Paws crossed on Chyna surprising me :-D

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

So frustrating when we're trying to do things so consistently with great attention to detail and sometimes the tools get in the way - ugh! Hope Chyna finds the down escalator today. Hang in there!

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

What a blu-ti-ful day Chyna had yesterday!! Hope she clears this bounce quickly and returns to the blue color with some green thrown in too!
Hope her eye clears up, sounds like you are doing all the right things.
I have had some of the sticky syringes also, and I did what Michelle suggested. Now I push the plunger up and down automatically before I even start to draw up the insulin.

Hope you are having a good day :-D

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

I hope Chyna clears the bounce quickly and her eye gets better. I've had the sticky syringes too. I always move the plunger up and down at least 3 times before I draw insulin and I still have problems sometimes. It's frustrating.

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

Really not too bad of a bounce although if we could do away with them completely I'm sure we would. Happy to hear the threat might be working in your favor Rachel. I too lubricate the syringe before each time and some times it just doesn't work. Frustrating I know. ohmygod_smile Tommy right now is having weepy eyes and I just take a warm wash rag as well and try to keep them as clean and dry as I can.
Thank you for visiting ;-) and I hope you have a lovely afternoon!

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268

Good Morning, Rachel.

Well, if that's as high as Chyna bounces, it's not too bad, really. Yesterday was so good for her - blue blue blue - it was bound to happen. Slide down now, Chyna, back to those lovely blues. Didn't you enjoy them yesterday? Mama did! :-D

Since my DH gives the shots due to my arthritic hands, I can't give any advice about the syringes, but I wish you luck with them. He has never mentioned a problem, but that doesn't mean he hasn't had one.

Sasha, my female Aby, has had one eye that waters forever. She has allergies, and I have always just assumed that was the cause. The vet has never found anything wrong with it, so we just live with it. She doesn NOT like a washcloth on her face, so I have to be creative and sneaky to clean it. ;-)

Hope you have a good day and Chyna comes down off that bounce quickly but safely.

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268 +6 291

Hi Rachel,
Some brands of syringes are easier to operate than others. The Terumos slide very easily, but I understand that you can't get them in Canada. Try holding the syringe in your hand for a minute or two before working the plunger back and forth. If the syringe is cold, this little bit of warmth could make a big difference.

I hope Chyna's eye will improve. It will almost certainly take more than 4 days for L lysine to help, so keep on giving it.

Have a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268 +6 291

Hi, Rachel, sorry to hear about your syringe ordeal. It's too bad that not only do they vary from brand to brand, but also from batch to batch. I hope you're able to figure out a trick to easily dose the insulin. Chyna seems to be liking those numbers today. I hope her bounce breaks soon ~ she sure looks good in blue! :-D
I hope you guys are having a great day!

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268 +6 291

Bean is getting twitchy, Chyna, she's issued a dosecrease threat. Let's see some action, ok?
Liz

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268 +6 291

That's not TOO bad of a bounce. I hope Chyna kept it flat for you. Good luck with the dosecrease...hopefully Chyna and Trix will both start working it!! Bummer about the syringes...yet another FD frustration. How can these companies be so casual about such important healthcare tools?? I hope you figure out some sort of work around. Have a great night, Rachel!

Re: 2/4 Chyna AMPS 268 +6 291

BTW, I haven't tried the Ziwipeack at all, and I can't remember if I tried the Nature's Variety with Trix or not, but I know I have had it in the house before...just can't remember who I tried feeding it to ohmygod_smile !!! Thanks for reminding me...I do need to re-visit Dr Lisa's chart.

Re: 2/4 Chyna PMPS 440 boing! and dosecrease

Well, here is the draaaamatic bounce I was expecting  . I was hoping for pink and expecting red or black...blech. I did the dosecrease tonight.

Thanks for visiting guys!

Tara, I'm hanging, thanks. Now that I know the twist thing (that I didn't know until many times into the first time we did this) it's even harder to push to measure when I know there is a more accurate way :?

Jane, thanks, maybe bounce clearing tonight ;-) ...I "prep" the syringe too, these ones are just stupid, I hope it's not the whole box. I've opened two of the 10 packs though and same on both...

Thanks Carla, I guess I'm not the only frustrated bean with syringes! Sometimes her eye is watering and others it looks ok...clear fluid though.

Hi Lauren, thanks, that was just the slide on the way to the bounce  I hope Tommys eyes clear up too.

Tricia, thanks. She seems to like to slowly prep me for a bounce, and then wham! I did enjoy the blues :-D It's nice to know other kitties are fine with weepy eyes. Chyna didn't like my big washcloth, but Marje said she uses baby washcloths and I found a pack of them, and Chyna sat good for it! Not enthused, but good.

Hi Ella, thanks so much for helping with the L-Lysine, I had no clue on an estimate of working. Her snoring seems better...but I've been at work too, so not around as much to hear. Maybe warming the syringe will help...I just want to be able to twist it so drops measure out, it pushes up and down fine...I will try hand warming it

Josie, thanks, it's nice to see you! We did a dosecrease to an even one, so it's a bit easier ;-) I think she'd look even better in green but she's not listening :o

Liz, I followed through, so now we will see if there is any action :-D

Amy, thanks, dosecrease on for our girls! I may waste a bit of insulin, but oh well...I love the Ziwipeak, it's from New Zealand and really nice, good reputation from what I've read. Pricey, but worth it. We seem to be on a neverending fuds search! I still look, since I'd like lower phos. The NV seems to be a hit too. I hope Trixie will like them if you try them:)

Well, I have dishes and litter scooping, and subqs to do, but I will be popping on and off to see how everyones days went. Have a good night, LL!

Re: 2/4 Chyna PMPS 440 boing! and dosecrease

Oh Chyna - must you be so dramatic?

I know what you mean about those syringes. The other kind I dislike are those that are hard to turn, then all of a sudden let out a drop so large you let out too much. I remember you recently commented you got a good price for syringes at Walmart, not sure if that's where you got that batch though.

My vetty wasn't too worried when I pointed out Neko's eye that is sometimes weepy. It can be chronic in some too.

Good luck on the dosecrease - we want flat greens next!

Oh BLAH on this bounce, Chyna! Come on down, please! Sorry you're dealing with a bouncy kitty, but I'm sending positive vibes and vines for this dosecrease! Sorry to hear about your syringes being screwy...or maybe I should say "not screwy"! Hope Chyna has a better day tomorrow.

Chyna, you really are a melodrama queen, aren't you? Enough with the red - it really doesn't become you. Stop bouncing now and slide down to a nice, safe number, please.

Hope she settles into this dose, Rachel, and that it turns out to be "the one"! :-D
