I haven't been testing as much for two days…running low on strips, and I thought I ordered to give enough time for delivery from Amazon, but I guess not. So Daphne probably had some green numbers too, but I got up late today and may have missed them. DH is going to Walmart tonight to buy the ReliOn meter and strips so we will have an extra meter when needed.

I'm a fan of the squint technique myself. Whatever you call it, nice numbers for Daphne.

I'm sure there was some green between those 105 bookends.

Relion (either the Micro or the Confirm) is a good meter. And you can order the Arkray Glucocard 01 Sensor strips from American Diabetes Wholesale and pay less than Walmart charges for it's Relion branding of the same strips. (Click on the "shop" button on the FDMB website; ADW has just joined the FDMB partnership program and FDMB gets a percentage of the price.)

Daphne is having a very nice cycle today! I hope your strips come today. I've done the same and then need to conserve strips stressing for them to arrive in my mail box. You will like the Relion meter. I have it as my back-up and it swipes up the smallest drop blood. Have a nice Friday.

Nice numbahs!!!

I switched to the Relion Confirm last fall, after using the One Touch Ultra Mini for 6 months. I wish I made the switch sooner - love that the Confirm takes a smaller drop, and the strips are soooo much cheaper, especially with the ADW "Buy 4 get one free" deal.

We still didn't get to Walmart, but I have the info and will do. I hate what happens when I run low and not be able to test when I want. I also like the idea of saving some cash, it's flying out the door these days, especially for strips.

We got a lot more green again at the end of the day 77, 91, 81, a little bouncy for Daphne, but its all green :mrgreen: at the end of the day :-D

I hope she is ok tomorrow, because I will not be with her for about 6 hours, first time I'm leaving her for that long. I will leave extra food out for her, I hope that will work out ok. With todays numbers I would not worry.

Nice greens tonight- go Daphne! Glad you got your strips. I'm still figuring out how much I'll need to order at one time. I just got the five-pack from ADW earlier this week and it seems like I'm already halfway through the first pack! I'll definitely be going this route instead of buying at the Walmart store. And I think if you use the link in the "Shop" section of FDMB, the board gets some benefit.

Yes, Monica thats how it was here. I opened the plastic bottle of the next 50 (got two 50s) and said, I think I'll order more from Amazon, thinking I was ordering early enough, so I had a whole 50 strips when I placed my order, and it took about 5 days to come. So I only had 10 left by yesterday. So next time I'll order more to start with and also, have the reliOn for the back up and the strips from the FDMB ADW. I also will maybe just use the ReliOn for my everyday use if its accurate. The cost can sure add up. I do feel better though if I have a back up meter. (I use my brother-in-laws sometimes for back up, but I don't like it at all, it needs way too much blood).

OK, now I hope I can sleep, need some energy for tomorrow.

We went through the same thing a lot in the beginning...thinking I ordered strips in time, and then would have to buy them locally because they didn't arrive. When we were using the One Touch Ultra, the strips cost twice as much locally and it was killing me. Now that we're very familiar with Trix's patterns, we don't test as frequently as we did in the beginning, unless she tosses us a low number. But, Trix is unusually predictable....always one thing to keep in mind, every cat is different!

The Relion is very accurate....we're really happy with it. It does read lower than our old One Touch, but I like that fact - it keeps Trixie safer. The strips cost almost 1/4 of what the OT strips were. And if you switch to the Relion, you can always let me know if you're running low on strips - I can get some to ya!

Thanks Amy, its good to know that one of us will have something if the other runs out. Didn't think about that. For now, we're good, the strips from Amazon are about $47.00, and then we can get the Relion, as our everyday, and save some cash, and so we'd have all the bases covered.

It figures today Daphne is low +6 58, the one day I have to be out of the house for 6 hours. I'm leaving her a little HC food so I hope she will be ok. Looking at her SS, she should surf a bit and then go up a bit, I pray!
