Good morning everyone, ~O)

We were having a good run right up until his pre-AMPS liver dump. 160 points in the hour. Not pleased at all. I know that because of the counter hormones being released with the dump that today will be a higher cycle which will probably present itself in my PMPS later. We shall see.

At + 11 he woke me up by a series of headbutts and purrs...he does not do this so I will assume that he was feeling GREAT at this point. Too bad I did not catch the dump. Somewhat annoyed I am still being caught off guard by it. There must be a way I can figure out how to anticipate it or at least catch it at the pass. Going to give this serious thought today and come up with a plan tonight.
He stayed low all night. Then made a dash for the rocketship and launched off right under my nose. Isn't that something...

Let's get on with the recap!

PMPS 292 @ +13.25 1.6u given and fed
+3 331 Can only assume that he was in launch at pmps
+5 217 PZ reeled him back in.1.5 oz snack. Off to bed.
+11 190
AMPS 349 The craziest jump ever. This may be a record for him. Didn't see that one coming at all. He'll probably stay in the red and hit the 300's around +4. This annoys me.

Otherwise, hope everyone has good cycles and sunny skies! Make it a great day, folks.

Mornin' Lisa
Looks like maybe he just had a later than normal onset, followed by a late nadir? Must have been a good one given that climb.
have a great day
Carl

I think our kitties are planning a party for Leap Year Day or something.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I hope Jax surprises you with lower BGs than expected...but, Jax, not too low, ya hear? ;-)

You beans crack me up! Super funny.

Carl, very possible. I'm not sure... :?:

Yes, that is a big jump in the last hour--but, still not a bad preshot. I just hope he didn't continue to climb at that rate. I have seen the same type jumps with Kitty when she was on bid dosing. Truly, I could never control them and she ran much higher overall than Jax...400 preshots and then would go into the 500s before the onset of the insulin. Hopefully, as Jax continues to settle into the "lower" numbers, the zooms will stop. I know it seems like a lifetime since Jax was dx, but you are still early in the dance-- it takes time "normally" for them to settle down.

Good Luck!

That would actually be a GOOD cycle for Grayson! I only dream of breaking 200 - and am thrilled if we break 300! Glass IS half full here - don't forget that! Who knows - maybe it'll get even better!

Lisa if you can "figure out" the surprises i want in on it.

Jax is really looking good! Wonder if you could catch the +11 before it rockets and shoot early? Just a thought. I know you would have to reduce some, i guess. I know the more experienced boarders could give you advice on that.

Have a great cycle!!!!

Well, if I wasn't around to catch the numbers I would be crowing from the rooftops that I was right! Turns out I was dead wrong. I managed to get home early enough to catch the +10. I fully expected him to be in the 300's and was very surprised to get a read of 209. Thinking we are going to do things differently this time around I decided I was going to get a +11, +11.5 and PMPS to see when he rockets off.

Can you believe that his +11 was 396?? Almost 200 points in the hour. I think he felt the need to break his previous record.

Of course, I shot early (there goes my scheduling!). If I missed that +10 and just got the +11 I would have thought he was running high all day.

On a side note, I was talking to a doctor pal about Jax and the insulin levels (she was fascinated) and I was talking about how stressful it was to leave him home alone. She tilted her head to the side and pondered if there was a niche for a Diabetic Day Care Center for Cats. I asked her if she wanted a business partner. Coming soon to an area near you, D.D.C.C.C! Imagine that. :-D

Wow! I'm glad you got home early to catch the number. Glad you are progressing! You are doing a great job Lisa!

You might have been wrong this time, but it's a sound logic. The #1 thing I have learned in the months I've been here is that with this dance, the words "always" and "never" don't exist. I think the best we can do is high and low probability.
