Didn't have enough to worry about with my 83 year old mom falling on the hard, wood floor (she's visiting us) and then hearing that my daughter's boyfriend who is also the son of my very close friends was hit by a car on his bicycle on campus while riding to class yesterday (hit and run, left in the rain) - he has a broken collarbone and a hematoma in his head - had to be transferred to a trauma center last night. Then Elian dropped to 107 at 5:00 this morning but has bounced all the way back up to 556 amps. Arghgh!!!!

Haha! Like he has so much to stress about! He has the life of luxury - every whim catered to and adored beyond adored. He's oblivious to everything that goes in here as are his 3 bros. their biggest stress is if breakfast is late. Haha! Seriously, though, thanks. I sure hope he goes back to at least yellows, maybe blues, today. What a stinker! He's curled up between my daughter and me right now. Purrfect moment. :)

Oh my...what a rough night! Sending may prayers to your Mom, your daughter's boyfriend, you, and Elian!!! I'm sure he'll clear that bounce soon...

ok elian come on down from there,
animals can pick up on our stress not to say their stressed, I know for a fact when my condition kicks in ruben inately knows and sits with me. It still amazes me.

Thanks so much. I'm thinking that we really aren't showing the stress for him to pick up on it but I guess they do have that 'sense'. Both of my daughters and I climbed back into bed (yep - it's almost 11 am and we are lying in my bed!) and Elian has head on my leg, Justin and Remy are between my legs and KC is at my daughter's feet! Loving it - best stress medicine there is. But only cat peeps understand it. :)
 
Well he has come down - to 145. And we are going to be heading to the hospital to visit the boyfriend in about 30 minutes and the hospital is an hour drive each way. Plus it will be rush hour. I'm gonna be a nervous wreck yet again. I will test again before leaving and hope he hasn't gone lower. Let him surf right here for a while! Fingers crossed.

If you have to leave and are worried about a lower number, feed him on the way out the door.

Thanks Carl - that's what I'm doing. My daughter just opened the cans (gotta feed all four at the same time!) and gave him a treat. Just tested again - he's down to 127 but if I'm not mistaken + 6 is about his nadir. (Hope that's right!) I will be rushing back ASAP. Fingers crossed.
 
Yes, it seems that his nadir has been around there, which should mean that he won't drop too much beyond that -- of course, we're dealing with cats who don't always pay attention to the "shoulds"! So feeding on the way out seems like a good way to go.

Nice to see a blue after the bouncing! Paws crossed that his pancreas is calming down when it detects the lower numbers.

What a day you've had! I hope everyone is on the mend.

As for Elian, he does have a great ability to bounce. We may nominate him for the Olympic trampoline team!
 
Thanks for the chuckle! Need it after seeing my daughter's boyfriend. He's in trauma ICU and half of his face is a mess along with his broken collarbone. :-( Sure hope all the bouncing isn't damaging Elian's organs or his health in general.
