It's been a couple of weeks since I've been around and not much has really changed. I do hang out over here and catch up on reading posts every now and then, but mostly just trying to keep it together with what seems to be so many issues all at once with so many kitties, but they need me and I need them so I just keep trying.
I will tell you that the powers that be could get the Adequan back in stock not soon enough for my liking .
Now that I'm actually able to afford it and start giving it to Tommy, it is on back order at least until the 7th of March.(at Drs. FosterandSmith) I have tried EVERY single site I can to no avail and the price tag for what the vet wants is just too steep. Tommy is limping pretty much all the time right now. I keep telling him to please hold on and don't give up, that the Adequan will be here soon. He's such a brave soul. I know the Adequan might not make him all better but It's worth a try. I can just tell he's hurting. I've upped his dose of Bupe to .2ml BID and just yesterday afternoon started him on L-lysine powder 1/4tsp a day (he still has weepy eyes).
I got a urine sample yesterday and still a lot of blood in it. I'm wondering if we can ever get it to go away for good. PH was good and no Ketones (small victory)
Last night I laid with him on the heating blanket for a while and we held hand/paw for quite some time, he seemed content and it made my heart happy <3 and I could swear that this morning while I was petting his head and wuzzling his ears that he was purring, actually purring!! I can't remember the last time I heard that sweet sound from him.
Belle is still eating on her own again but I have some cypro here just in case, she hasn't needed it yet.
I started Teddy on Solid Gold Berry Balance a couple of weeks ago and Lil G Girl on UT support chews from Pet Naturals.
I also switched the Fish oil out for Tommy, he now gets .75ml of Nordic Naturals a day instead of the Welactin soft gel innards!
Prayers for all of you that need them! Hold tight to your babies and let them know how much they're loved each and every day... for you never know!

Re: 2/27 Tommy AMPS 322 2.R, +2 312

:YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: ...I'm sorry you've had a tough time with your furbabies lately. It make sense that you are focusing your energy on them.

I hope the Adequan comes back in soon....I didn't realize there was a shortage of it again. It really helped my GA civvie Mario so much. Even though it didn't completely erradicate his symptoms, I could tell he was so much more comfortable. Moments like you had with Tommy last night are priceless treasures...

Sending you many, many hugs and prayers....

Hi Lauren, it's nice to see you :-D . I've been looking at Adequan as I was considering switching from Cartrophen (Canada version) although it is helping Chyna, I hope you can find some...

I'm glad you had such a nice cuddle moment with Tommy with his sweet purring! cat_pet_icon . It sounds like you are pretty busy taking care of all your babies, healing vines to all of them! And anti-stress and comfort vines to you as you deal with it all :YMHUG:

(PS I sent you a PM too, but I found Adequan in stock at 1800petmeds (but sells 2 vials at a time), I saw it on allivet.com but am not sure of stock as it didn't say...and also at medi-vet.com...http://www.medi-vet.com/Adequan-Canine-p/10622.htm but the medi-vet one can only be ordered by a vet though but maybe if you show the vet the pricing...well just in case figured I'd mention ;-) )

Amy and Rachel, thank you for stopping in today and for the support and hugs
Apparently I pulled a major brain fart today. Thanks to Rachel for waking me back up and mentioning the canine adequan. I have been so focused on the equine version because of the price I completely forgot that Patty had told me a while back that the two are the same but the canine is more expensive. ohmygod_smile
The equine adequan isn't expected back in stock until the beginning of March.
Could someone enlighten me if the products are the same why can I not buy the equine adequan at a lower cost? I hope that didn't sound too much like a stupid question, but I'm curious.
Any who, I found it at Valleyvet.com for 114.95 for 2 of the 5ml vials... So now I'm just waiting for them to contact my vet and get approval and then they can ship it to me and hopefully we can get Tommy feeling and walking a little better. My heart hurts so bad to see him limping
I hope all of you have a wonderful evening :YMHUG:

((((Lauren)))), so much going on with your furkids right now. Sending healing vines to those that need them at your place. Good news to hear that Tommy is purring. I've noticed it's much easier to get Neko purring now that she's on bupe BID.

Good luck getting the Adequan quickly. I expect the equine version is cheaper because people buy it in larger quantities since they need so much more for a 1000 lb plus animal. Same reason the dog version of freeze dried treats is cheaper than cat versions.

Hey Lauren!

The person that I can think of off hand who is familiar with Adequan is Barb/Tuffy. I'll drop her a note and ask her to stop by.
