Honey has been off the juice for 25 days - but who's counting
She is still doing really well - numbers are good, all Ps in place and she's a really happy catty.
Such a turn-around since her dx in Oct. She had lost weight, peeing outside the box, eating all of the time (dry food then - Hills R/D which should be banned!), not playing at all, anti-social and generally miserable. I finally realised (duh!) something was really wrong when I found her lying in her own pee.
Of course, the usual story with the vet although they did give me lantus. But, I found FDMB and the rest is....history :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
Monster & Minkie update:
1 month after Honey's dx, Monster was dx with hyper-T and enlarged heart. I thought he would be die in the night the way the vet talked to me.
Again, FDMB to the rescue - thanks to Marje's for calming words and advice!
He went on methimazole and heart meds but then got all the worse side affects and had to go on pepcid and zyrtec too.
At the same time, Minkie started with really bad diarrhea - we had every test known to vet run on him and all came back negative. So he started on flagyl and Albon - again with a lot of help and encouragement from FDMB members.
Minkie's diarrhea cleared up - I now think its an intollerance to beef
Monster had I131 at end of Jan and had 4 wk blood work results last week - T4 is now normal! His BUN and CREA are also both in the normal range. He's off the heart meds and doing great!
Oh - and my husband, who lost his job Thanksgiving Week  , started a new one mid-January on a better salary
Hoping all kitties are happy and healthy and that all beans can relax and give themselves a big pat on the back
