2/27 ~ *Curve was done* Need dosing advice please.AMPS is due in 11 hrs.

Hello again,
I did a *Curve* today.
Milo is having another ear infection in the same ear (Left) that he was previously treated for. He was started on a new Antibiotic Ear drop treatment on February 23rd. for 7 days.(AURIZON) The previous Antibiotic ear drops was prescribed for
5 days.(SUROLAN)
Except for his blood sugar # being elevated,( probably due to the new infection?) and sleeping a bit more he is doing great. I expect that 2 ear infections back to back is
hard on his little body.. ~ he doesn't seem to have any pain. ~ Appetite is good and he's happy and content,grooming and purring as always. Guessing that infections and perhaps even medications can raise the blood sugar... Is that correct? Looking at his numbers in this cycle i am almost sure that he needs another increase from 2.5 Units to 2.75 Units at AMPS...

Hi Mariaana, yes, infection and pain does raise blood sugar. I think Surolan drops also have a steroid which can also elevate BG
Glad he is doing okay despite the infection and meds.

He does need an increase to 2.75U. Hopefully his numbers will improve once the infection is treated and the ear drops are done with.
