2/26 Tessie Lou - home treatment for pancreatitis?

Hi all,
My Tessie Lou has been running higher numbers in the past couple weeks. I was wondering, if it is chronic pancreatitis, which the vet suspects, is it worth it to have the bloodwork done to know, or is there really not much that can be done for it anyway? Do you just treat the pain? You don't give antibiotics for that, do you?

Pancreatitis is usually fairly painful and the inflammation can transfer to the surrounding organs (liver, gallbladder, etc). The usual course of action is to switch to the lowest fat food you can manage, sometimes kitties need fluids, some sort of pain killer (bupe is often used), and SAMe/milk thistle/denamarin to help the liver heal from the inflammation.
