Yesterday's morning surprise.

2/25 Recap:
AMPS 95:D +3 239 +10 164
PMPS 199 +4 241

Starting Saturday morning, I'll be getting a lot more PM +9 spot checks. Less than 43 hours until rowing season starts. But who's counting. :) I think the cats are anticipating it too. I got a wee hours wake up call/head snuggle from the civie. It's been ages since he's done that.

Neko's been a purry girl this morning. She started up after the shot makeup scritches and all the way through acupressure. It's been just a little over a year that I started giving Neko buprenorphine BID. Before that, she wasn't as social or as purry. It's made quite a difference to her quality of life. In addition to helping her arthritis pain, there is some though that acrocats might get headaches, though I don't know how you'd figure that out.

Happy Fursday everyone - vines to all in need.

Nice start for Neko. Yay for rowing season! I bet you are excited. The bupe must be working if she is so social and purry. That is what it is all about. Have a great day Wendy!

Oh, gosh, Wendy. I've had it backwards. I thought acro cats gave headaches. The one at my house sure does!

Sure sounds like Neko's bupe is a winner. Polly's headaches (I think that's what was going on) a few weeks after SRT had her hanging out under the bed, running from me, and just ADR (ain't doing right). Lasted about 3 days.

Love Theo's morning 'get up' call. I just get yowls bellowed from the floor. Oh, and whines from the dog as he circles the bed.

Neko, heading for green?

Keep the count down coming. Bout 40 hours, now, huh?

Enjoy your rowing Wendy. Everything is frozen solid here. Glad Neko is feeling good.

That's an interesting thought about the headaches, I've often thought Crystal was just having an "off" day, perhaps that is the cause. Is the bupe administered by injection or tablet form?

Hope Saturday is fine and you have a great first outing.

Suki and Crystal

Gee whiz Wendy- you're not excited about the start of rowing season are you??? :joyful::joyful::joyful: Great start to the day for Neko- good girl!

RE: :( Sorry about the damage caused to your tree by your neighbor's excavating! You're smart to get proactive about it - it can get tricky and complicated!

Another save a strip day. I've been wondering if the Duralactin was impacting her blood sugar, but she did have two good cycles with it before I messed up with the fur shots. And she did have green yesterday. My general rule of thumb is that any dose that gets pink is too low. I'll give her a few cycles yet because of the green yesterday, but she's on notice for an increase this weekend!
Hmm - one cat on either side of me, both grooming their left hind leg. What does that mean? :cat:

@ Melissa, Marilyn, Anne, Peg, Suki, Serryn, Ruth, Carla - Thanks for stopping in. 35.5 hours to go - not counting all. The fur kids will love getting regular PM +9 pokie treats again. Neko had a good day, another afternoon daddybean lap.
@pollydoodle , @suki & crystal - acro people get headaches, so I think that's what the speculation is. Something to do with bone and/or soft tissue growth in the head. The headaches after SRT are from inflammation from the radiation and just temporary. For Neko it could just have been her arthritis was really bothering her without pain control. It was around that time that she stopped jumping on the kitchen stool (gateway to the counters). Buprenorphine comes in different formats, but I like the liquid that you squirt between their cheek and gums. It's absorbed sublingually. We also tried gabapentin (pills), which works for some acrocats, but just made Neko sleepy.

Hi Wendy,
Countdown is clipping along. Are the boats ready? Are the crews ready? Is the weather ready?? Are the kitties ready???

Yo Neko, the lagoon is the other way!

Have a great evening, guys!

Neko, have you been hanging out with Mikey? That bounce looks like his influence.

On the subject of buprenorphine, I just have to add that the liquid makes my civvie instantly high. It is the most hysterical thing you've ever seen! Recreational drugs for cats! Mikey doesn't have any reaction to it at all. So sad. :)

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) - Check on all counts, though one of the coach boat motors is being grumpy and is at the shop, we have spares. It'll probably only be low 40's for the temps that early in the morning.
@ Rusty - I'z drifting down to shore. ~Neko

@Marycatmom - Getting the bupe dose right is an art. My civie did the drunken sailor walk when a weekend vet gave him the wrong amount. Neko prefers catnip as a recreational drug.

Bupe is indeed a wonderful drug, and I'm glad it is helping Neko so much. QOL is everything.

Neko, how nice of you to let your beans sleep tonight! I'm sure they won't mind a little lagoon action in the morning, though.
