✖ she has concurrent illnesses so you will often see me ramble on things that aren't related to feline diabetes. if you want to check Miho's bg updates quickly, you can skip my rant and only read the part i underlined. ✖

she vomited bile so im expecting her to go low going into this afternoon..:nailbiting:
I gave her a small amount of slippery elm to ease her tum.
i'm going to increase zofran from 4mg daily to 4mg every 12 hours, and feed her more often.

+ she also overgroomed her butt and scooted a lot & passed slightly watery stool, scratched herself more than usual. She usually eats beef & hoki (freeze-dried raw) but that was out of stock yesterday. The other option from the same brand was lamb & salmon. she's allergic to lamb.. but that was the only thing she loved to eat last night and this morning. I managed to get beef & hoki today so she doesn't have to eat lamb anymore but i'm still a bit nervous because all the symptoms she was showing me so far (diarrhoea, vomiting, hiding briefly then coming out, hiding again, irritated etc) is the prodrome of hypoglycemia. she's a bit on and off today, i will keep an eye on her and update her bg soon!

68 (3.8 mmol/L)

her bg wasn't raising very much even though i increased glucose powder, so i mixed a bit of raw sugar in the treat. i have pure oligosacchride syrup at home but it makes her tummy very angry

Do you have honey or karo. That is better than sugar as it is a simple sugar and doesn't have to be broken down further in the body ro work.

65 (3.6 mmol/L)

Why does sugar lower her bg?!
she's back to 65, i gave her glucose powder only this time without sugar

I have honey and oliccosacchride syrup. I don't have karo, the only version of karo available to where i live (australia) is karo "light" which kind of defeats the purpose. Unfortunately Miho responds badly to honey and corn syrup as well. Sugar (including nutrical, honey and corn syrup) actually lowers her bg for some wild reason, it's probably related to her ibd i'll ask my vet next time. Her bg only responds well to glucodin (a human-grade pure glucose powder w/o any flavors or preservatives) I bought it from the pharmacy not expecting much but this has been the only thing that saved miho from hypo

92 (5.1mmol/L)

the glucometer still says her bg is "decreasing" (red light), this is not always accurate but i won't stop monitoring until she goes well over 100. do you think i should still give her glucose powder? or just monitor her bg every 0.5 hr from this point? @Bron and Sheba (GA)

76 (4.2 mmol/L)

she dropped but i got a green light from the meter? green means her bg has stabilised, not going up or down. I gave her glucose powder treats but in a small amount this time, she honestly seemed sick of treats and wanted to take a nap instead lol but I pleaded ("this is a reward i prepared for you for enduring ear pricks..could u eat them just a little pretty please:c") she was kind enough to accept some of it :cat: i won't give more
